Citroën C5 rear suspension isn’t raising

Unread post by FinnishC5 »

Hello all!
I’m new with Citroëns, and just bought a C5 break 2.0petrol with automatic transmission.
Now, the problem the car has, is that the rear hydraulics isn’t working, but in front it is raising correctly when operating on the buttons. The list i’ve already done:
-cleaned contacts of the rear height sensor
-cleaned the rear stiffnes regulator contact (if this is the correct word)
- topped the lds-fluid
I wonder could the raising problem be because the ”bone” that goes from the rear height sensor to the bar is slightly moving in place when tested with fingers?
And the rear height sensor place where the ”bone” goes is just spinning around when in hand? Is this normal? Any tips would be appriciated, and i apologize, my english isn’t very good. Best regards, new citroën owner from Finland.

It's normal, that you can the "bone" turn around, but it's possible that there is the problem, because the output signal is over 3 times 120 degrees and various from a few millivolts to around 4 volt, but again just over 120 degrees. So here you can see, that the position of the "bone" connected to the clamp on the stabilisator rod can be upwards or downward, when this position is wrong then the height of the car/suspension is faulty.

I’ll try to look the cause of suspension failure. Could it be low lds level? Mine doesn’t have lds fluid in the tank, wonder if i’m stupid because didn’t check that first.

When the car is in the lower position, you should see the LDS just at the bottom if, not half way of the basket.

Be careful about this post! This is only correct if the car is set in the LOWEST position with the DIAGBOX!! otherwise is what i said, in the LOW position the LDS fluid must be seen just at the bottom.
