Hi, thanks. I have tried to reset the service a few times, but it does not go off. I service the car every year and try to reset the service symbol, but I am unable to do it.PaulC5 wrote: 10 Dec 2025, 13:15 I notice the service countdown is showing 27550 miles overdue. It will be in the handbook on how to reset this after a service but is typically a button on the dash is held down (or possibly on the end of a stalk) and the key turned so the dash lights up. It will then countdown from 10 to =0 and then you can release the button and start the engine.

Re: Citron C2 1.1 L 2006
Hi and thanks. My car's symptoms, detailed in the post, suggest the issue is with the steering wheel sensor, as I never had any issues with wheel alignment (no wear on the tyres). I understand that there is a steering wheel sensor unit behind the steering wheel. I am a bit puzzled.ozvtr wrote: 10 Dec 2025, 22:44Yes, some versions of the C2 had the option of ESP. However, this car does not have ESP. Otherwise there would be an EPS light adjacent to the ABS light on the dash.Monty DIY wrote: 03 Dec 2025, 20:41 I am not sure how to check what the problem is and how to check the steering wheel sensor fault. Can I reset the Steering wheel sensor?
So that begs the question: Why are you asking about the "steering wheel sensor fault"...when it doesn't have a steering wheel sensor? Who said there was a fault with the steering wheel sensor?

Re: Citron C2 1.1 L 2006
Hi & thanks, this makes sense if I do not have ESP. The electric motor might not be working, thus loose steering wheel. I am going to check the accessibility of the electric motor and check all the connections. Not sure how easy ot is to remove the motor, and do I have to drain the steering oil? Once I have sorted the loose steering issue out, then I will take it for wheel alignment. I do not want to do a wheel alignment and still have the same issue. I'm working on a low budget.PaulC5 wrote: 10 Dec 2025, 23:02 The power steering might be an electric motor built into the rack so there might be something wrong with that.

Ah yes, my adventures with the C2 Loeb rack and the various (slightly different and different to distinguish) variations in C2 racks!PaulC5 wrote: 14 Dec 2025, 21:57 There is a lot of information on the steering rack in this topic https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/view ... 8&start=15
Fun fact... I only finally got rid of the left over C2 rack spares I'd clung onto, late last summer!

Re: Citron C2 1.1 L 2006
Sorry, been offline for a while. I was unable to fix the steering problem described above. However, my car passed its MOT in December, and now the passenger-side front coil spring has fractured. I have dismantled the shock and found that the top bearing mount was out of its plastic cover. So must have a play here for the steering to be loose. I am looking for a good second-hand strut assembly with a spring. The number on the shock is 9649468580. Which other Citron/Peugeot/Car uses the same shock assembly?
I hope replacing the shock assembly will cure the loose steering issues I have been having as described above.
Let me know if anyone has a spare good passenger side shock assembly for C2 2006 1.1L Petrol (JM).
Thanks

Have a look at this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/317750442857 ... Model%3AC2
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

The coil spring should have coloured bands on it, make sure any replacement has the same colours so it is the same type/strength.

To inform you that I have managed to find a good second-hand shock assembly and fitted it. The steering sits at an angle towards the left. I have noticed the wheels are wearing on the inside, so they are toeing out. Hopefully, the wheel alignment will cure the loose steering issue.
