Ahh, the good old Samba Fun fact: the AX was originally to be the new-model Talbot Samba - before PSA killed the Talbot name...

Never knew that, that would of been an interesting development if it had happened, as regards my samba i remember a couple of things about the car when I had it , it used to lean quite a bit if you cornered hard & being a wally (I was only 20) I remember putting my foot down through a village that had a mean hump back bridge its was about 12 midnight I got it up over 30 (wow) and hit the hump of the bridge ... it took off flying samba. when I landed I stopped the car walked back to the hump and picked up the contents of my under pants oh god .... im laughing typing this just thinking of it ... somehow my mum found out what id done and she gave me a wallop for being an idiot, turns out my friend told her , I found that out because after he said sorry about your mum giving you a slap but when your told me earlier I had to say something we don't want anything happening to you ... youth is wasted on the young isnt it ..

Reality: they are LED (and working. Not spot lighting the floor like some aftermarket LEDs! I'd say close in output to the filament bulb originals)

Over the phone I thought this was flush and replace but their sheet suggests just top up to level.

Reality: coolant sat on the max line, where it should be.

(I think a flush would be justified, as it's not the rich red colour it out to be (another flush is on the cards, when the weather is fit!))

Reality: it was half way between max and mine lines. I took bottle of oil with me and put perhaps half a litre in.

Accepted (as in agree needs doing!) on both counts. Wow, nearly £700 though!

Ok, so they've the equipment to measure the disk thickness and think front disks are on the thin side. I will seek out a pair of disks for the front too.

Also mentioned/shown on the video was that the front passenger side arch liner is cracked. Yes, it definitely is!
It's one I've fixed with the hot staples in the past, but the whole thing is brittle so it's time to change the whole thing.
Quite surprised they've not priced me up one if those given it's clearly had it!

Wonky ball joint: I've emailed the eBay seller. I have in mind the wishbones were supposed to be 2 year warranty (but cannot find details to confirm that now) so will see what reply I get. They've other brands of same component for sale now, listed with 2 year warranty.

Most jobs can wait for a break in the weather, even the front pads that's the most pressing have a few months life before we're metal to metal.

Absolutely, not quite there with this one (in terms of how much it's worth), but I'd think there's cars get scrapped when their low value is contrasted against a scary huge list like that!

I will tot up my actual costs for fixing all the above in due course. I'm certain I can be well under a half the cost, see if I can keep below a quarter????
