I have what appears to be a significantly common issue…
For some time now, the controls for the heater fan have been totally ineffective so I’m unable to turn it on at all or get any heat into the car, but periodically the fan motor will kick in on full blast and I’m unable to turn it off. It even continues running after the ignition has been turned off and as a result the battery goes flat. This is the current state - fan is on all the time when key is turned in the ignition.
I’ve done plenty of research here and elsewhere on the net and most posts tend to suggest it’s the heater blower resistor that could need replacing? The videos I’ve looked at suggest the resistor should be found under the driver side footwell somewhere to the left of the motor itself. I’ve removed all the trims but it doesn’t seem to be where I’m expecting it to be…. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or am I looking for the wrong thing altogether? Please help!!

I did come across this particular video myself whilst doing my research.
Unfortunately on my vehicle the resistor is not where it is on the video. I did remove a component from a similar position but I think that it’s some sort of climate control unit. There’s nothing there that even looks close to the resistors I’ve seen in other videos.
It’s a bit late now, but I’ll take a quick video tomorrow of how mine is looking and post here and see if anyone can shed any light on it.

I’ve attached photos that show what I have.
One of the photos is of what I think is a climate control unit (DENSO CLIM BCC CEM01), this was connected via the yellow clip to the top of the plastic ducting.
What is the component still attached to the right of this? I’m pretty sure that’s not the resistor?
As you can see though, the resistor is not where I would expect it to be as shown in the previously posted video.
