what is this 2014 Citroen c3

A couple of weeks ago my son dropped the key to my daughter's C3 and it wouldn't start it.
I got a mobile auto locksmith out. It took him twenty minutes to cut a new keyblade and programme a new fob that works perfectly, including the remote locking and unlocking that didn't with the old key.
£130!

He checked the old key and the circuit board was missing, must have flown out when it was dropped.

I think you started the question wrong. Because you have a central locking system with a remote key that doesn't work. It's a job for a key coding technician. He should have a diagbox but also another device for encoding keys. First of all, he should establish why the remote locking does not work. Since every car manufacturer has a different system, the technician should know it.If you were to buy a real remote control key now, it would have to be programmed to your system.

thanks for the reply i have tried a few coding people they did code the keys which start the car but central locking isnt working it only works using the key in door lock or central button i now have two remote keys one ask one fsk they both start the car but not the locking i have asked on here before and didnt get an answer only to sync the key but it wont sync any key so i used 3 different technicians who failed hence i came back on here hoping diag box reports no faults with com unit it says one remote and 2 keys programmed but it dosnt see a signal from remote but thankyou for your input i think this car will have to go to Citroen as i live on main road which is dangerous with a key in the door with cars passing within inches ,Cheers

One of those should have worked so it looks like there's a more serious problem elsewhere as you already concluded.

Did any of the people you had out actually check the output signal to confirm if the remotes were indeed ASK or FSK? They both look identical so wouldn't be hard to be bagged incorrectly.

I believe based on my notes on previous cars this should be FSK

im not sure how if they knew how to its a bit hard in the north west as a lot of key men have left the profession up here (dont know why) i do know one lad hes good but so unreliable and as soon as he turns up he wants £120 before he gets out of car if your lucky hes in a good mood and actualy fix it if he isnt well he will just tell you get a certain part and disapear i agreee with you about it being fsk only by reading these threads i dont think its the comms unit as i said i bought another and it made no difference im sure in my none knowladge this is a key problem i bought some of fleabay and amazon i can only go of what they tell me they are

sorry for delay in replying i dont have a remote key i never got one the only key i ever got was a chipped black solid key i bought two remote keys on ask the other fsk i have digi box and programmed both keys which both start the car but none will sync the remote , thanks

I've asked this question before but where in the n/west are you? I ask because I've just ordered a cheapo key frequency analyser which shows whether a remote is ASK or FSK. Be another 3 weeks or so until it arrives.

Analyser arrived today and correctly identifies the 308 key fob (FSK) and the C5 X7 key fob (ASK).
