2015 Berlingo 1.6 hdi no start

Unread post by Johnjo8465 »

Hi guys my Berlingo died on the way home the other night science then I have changed the fuel filter and fuel rail pressure switch I'm only getting between 5 and 8 bar of rail pressure when cranking I'm an the stage where I'm ready to change the hpfp but I have a f5ff error code for the bsi which it niggling at me asso when all codes have been cleared the EML won't go out so that's what's drawing me to this code and no start I also did a leak off test to see if it was the injectors that were at fault but had no fuel going to them has anyone ever experienced this before ? Thanks in advance

Have you checked the timing belt? Pretty much the only reason these engines stop is when the belt goes....

Hi Richard yes had the cover off and checked the belt the van will fire when a shot of easy start is introduced but just cranks without it I have a spare pump in the garage just trying to eliminate everything else before I take the plunge and change it the f5ff code and illuminated EML that's got me thinking it's not the pump I even tried the van with a tow but the rail pressure would not go above 8 bar I don't have the Citroen diagnostics software that mabee dig a bit deeper

Good news on the belt. The BSI 5f55 code is almost always there, but doesn't mean anything. Changing the pump is not easy, ideally you would check the fuel pressure first to rule out the pressure sensor (which is only marginally easier to change!).

I changed the fuel rail pressure sensor on it but still got the same reading only thing I've not done is the fuel pressure regulator on the pump 🤔
