Engine management light fault

Unread post by Les-227 »

Citroen spacetourer 1.6 diesel, 2017 model.
I have an issue withe the engine fault spanner light comes on with both engine management lights when I start but if I turn off the ignition and back on quickly it goes off. Really starting to annoying me, any ideas?

Need to scan it to find out what it's upset about.

The spanner light on its own could be it is due a service (every year or a mileage if sooner). You could reset the service counter to see if this clears - details will be in the hand book but is often you press a button near the speedo with the ignition on (engine not running) and let it countdown to =0 and then release the button and you can then start the engine. Or you could press the button with the engine on and see how many miles to the next service.

For the engine management light you need to plug in a code reader as Richard W says.

I've changed the MAF sensor and it made no difference but this other codes also came on. The fact turning the key off and back on quickly cancels it out has me baffled.

Can you see live data on the scanner? A fault for both would suggest an earth fault, or maybe failure of the 5V reference for those sensors (but then I would expect others sensors to be at fault as well).
