Numpty can't select phone(bluetooth) as source

Unread post by hairgoneJohn »

Hi

I've just bought a 2012 DS3 1.6Hdi for my daughter and am having a senior moment....and she's having a junior moment! :rofl2:

The radio does not have a model no. visible but it has a large monochrome screen (not touch) and is marked bluetooth. Both I and my daughter can pair our phones (one android, one Apple) to the radio and the radio shows bluetooth connected.
However we cannot figure out how to play phone music through the radio. If the source button is pressed it toggles between radio and external (is this the wired connection above the 12v socket?) but bluetooth does not show.

Please can anyone help.

I'm sure one of the members will be able to confirm this but I have a vague feeling that it may not be as easy as it should be. There were some models where the bluetooth only worked for hands free and you had to use the aux input to play music but I don't know if that applies to yours i'm afraid! :)

I concur with Mick. Some Bluetooth models are phone only. Have a look at the photos here and se if you can identify your unit viewforum.php?f=44 Note particularly the difference between the eMyWay / RT6 / RNEG2 / WIPNAV+ unit and the MyWay / RNEG / WIPNAV unit.

A photograph of the unit in situ may also help.

Thanks. I have the Myway unit, which I now see doesn't allow audio streaming.

I have the same in a 2011 C3 Picasso, although Bluetooth it doesn't play music from the phone, does your phone have a headphone socket? If so plug into the external socket, if phone doesn't have headphones socket you can get a Bluetooth unit to plug into car external socket then pair that to phone.

If the phones have USB C, you can get a simple and inexpensive adapter from USBC to 3.5mm stereo jack socket, so it works just like a headphone socket. Something like this (there are many, many others)
