Re: Citroen C5 X7 very firm suspension
Hi, I'm glad you fixed it. My only question regarding this is: are you certain that the suspension was able to lower and raise while it was stuck in stiff mode? I ask this because it should not be possible to change the height with the stiff mode solenoids engaged on Hydractive 3+ system.

@aerodynamica:
The problem in this case was, that in the BHI, blackbox on top of the motor, some components are blown, this is why the solenoid of the stiffness regulators get constant 12 Volt and disconnect the middle spheres, this must be 0 Volt and only shift to 12 Volt when the system sees that the threshold of the parameters where past.

Yes, the car could raise and lower without any problem, everything appeared to work normally, except the ride quality was terrible and the suspension felt extremely harsh all the time. It wasn’t just stuck in stiff mode, the whole body behavior was completely uncontrolled. The car would rock when going off a curb, make knocking noises, and felt like it had no “brain” managing the suspension at all. As Kees explained, the issue inside the BHI unit was the cause of that.
