Interior temperature sensor
Hi, my AC is acting up.
I have a strong feeling the inside temperature sensor is faulty, due to the fact that the climate system acts like the temperature is very high.
Do any of you know where it is located on a citroen c3 II bluehdi 100?
I tried to remove the plastic panels on the footwell on both sides, i found the aluminum pipes but can't find the sensor.
To help understand what I'm looking for, look at the picture

Re: Interior temperature sensor
It looks like #2 is the interior temperature sensor.

That's a 1st series, my car is a 2nd series.
Out of curiosity, what's #1?

Re: Interior temperature sensor
#1 (in the previous post) is the evaporator temperature sensor.
The picture below is for later cars, with #1 being the evaporator sensor, #2 the (outlet?) temperature probe and #6 the (ambient?) sensor.

Re: Interior temperature sensor
I think 6 is the sun sensor? The original pic would appear to be the evaporator sensor. Really needs a diag session to see what temps are being read.

Re: Interior temperature sensor
Is it possible to check the different sensor through obd? I don't have diagbox, but my friend has one of these diagnostic tablets, not sure if it's compatible with citroen thoughRichardW wrote: 09 Feb 2025, 08:38 I think 6 is the sun sensor? Re: Interior temperature sensor
Hi, Did you find location of interior temperature sensor? I have same issue with my ds3. Diagnostic shows blown air temperature is -40 degree and aircon never activates the compressor. It supposed to be sensor located in heater unit, next to evap radiator, but there are nothing seen. I have replaced the control unit / heater resistor, thinking that temp sensor may have been integrated inside it, but that didn't fix the problem. Searching for the replacement part for the evap sensor/interior temperature sensor - no1 part comes up ,as per last diagram. However , it's not there and tracing wires around heater assembly- there are nothing comes in to it with two wires. My suggestion , that this sensor is located somewhere inside the vents in the dashboard. But there nothing shows on the citroen repair diagram. Would appreciate if someone can advise of exact location of this interior air temp sensor.

Re: Interior temperature sensor
I am still having the same problem as per last post and no feedback if topic starter have sorted his problem. Does anyone can help with pinpoin to where this sensor can be located? On the diagnostic it's named" driver side blown air temperature sensor". In my car ds3 1.6 bluehdi 100 right hand drive , this temperature sensor shows -40 degree and ac not requesting for the compressor to kick in. I have taken covers on both sides off the blower/heater unit and only could find stepper motors, but nothing that looks like sensor.

Re: Interior temperature sensor
Well with zero help out there I found the interior temperature sensor. Although it's called the Drivers side Blown Air temperature Sensor. It's actually on the Passenger side Obvs drivers side in France. Although I found it and tested it with a multimeter working . The car still thinks it's-40 degrees inside. So still not found the fix..

Re: Interior temperature sensor
Replacement of the faulty sensor, surely?
If you post your VIN in full (the site automatically obscures this) someone may be able to look this up.

Were you able to resolve the issue or determine the underlying cause?
I am experiencing the same problem with a 2016 DS3 120HP. The diagnostic report indicates that the expelled‑air temperature is -40°C, and the air‑conditioning compressor does not engage.
Could you advise on the location of the sensor? Is it easily accessible?
How did you ultimately resolve the issue?
Thank you in advance for any assistance or guidance you can provide.
