BIG PROBLEM WITH CITROEN C4

Unread post by Aminju709 »

Hi everybone, im new in this forum to see if someone can help me with my problem.

I have a Citroen Picasso C4 that starts normally and wouldn't display the gears on the screen (it's automatic). It only shows two lines.
I replaced the gearbox, the selector sensors, and the selector lever, but nothing.
The main relay was also replaced, and all the fuses were tested.

I don't know if anyone could help, i have this for six months.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome
Could you post picture o the screen as it is?
To do that use the attachments button at the bottom of your posting panel and then click 'add files ' and select your pic.once it appears put your cursor in the posting box and then click 'place inline'
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Hello thanx for reply Mickthemaverick!!

Well , I forgot to take a photo.
But I found one on Google of a manual C4, and I edited it to show the problem.

The first thing to do is a BSI reset following the correct procedure linked below. Once that is done and if the fault is still there then, considering the changes you've already made, I'd suggest you need to check the multi plug connectors on the back of the screen unit to be sure all are clean and undamaged. If they prove to be ok then you may find a clue if you run a full diagnostic with a high end tool, preferably Diagbox connected via Lexia interface, and see if there are any fault codes related to the gearbox. If there are you will need to clear them and then retest. Good luck :)

O friend thanx for the information.
I just wanted to add that, aside from everything being thoroughly reviewed, the BSI was changed to see if the fault came from there.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

These aren't meaningful Citroen codes, you need to find someone with the correct tool.

(It is quite likely 040a is actually F40A, which is an oil level measure that is essentially a software bug. If it is actually F40A, ignore it as long as your oil level is correct)
