Hi all,
Does anyone have a procedure or set on instructions for fitting a window glass and regulator unit to my C5 Tourer front door please?
I did a search, apologies if I missed it, but couldn't find it.
I bought a new front passenger side door from an online scrap dealer and it came without glass and with a regulator that looked like it had been removed with a chainsaw! I have an existing door which I'm swapping over, which has all the bits installed, but it's going to be done off the car, so little tips such as "window up or down before your start?" that would help me. Also, the upper inside black plastic window frame is missing, but it looks like it was glued and clipped on. Any clue as to how that comes off without breaking it?
I know, back in the day when Marc was an active member, he seemed to lay his hands on information like that. I wondered if anyone else is now doing this, as I'm sure he's been a hard act to follow and there is so much information due to the complexity of car assembly.
As usual, any and all help is most gratefully received.
Have a good weekend!

Unfortunately we don't currently have the access to the Stellantis database which Marc had so I cannot search for the procedure for you. However there are members with their own access and hopefully one of them will see your post and help you out
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Front window and regulator fitting instructions needed
I remember changing the cable on my C5 10+ years ago, and remember sitting on the ground for a long time and cursing as I tried to hold all the bits together and somehow wind the cable round. Got there in the end though. I did keep the link to some instructions, although I'm pretty sure I had others as well. This might get you goiing:

Re: Front window and regulator fitting instructions needed
Thank you for that excellent info. Very well documented guide that will help me enormously!
I remember the "evil" white sound insulation panel from a while ago.
I was removing one from a back door to find a rattle (loose screw!) and I spent ages with a Stanley Knife blade, carefully cutting the foam glue all round.
After removing the panel I temporarily set it back while I went for a coffee. When I returned it was completely glued back on and required cutting again!
What is that stuff?
This a long marathon of a job, involving replacing both doors on the passenger side of the car, following an altercation with a hit n run driver in France. I've put up with a pair of "temporary" doors for a while now with the intention of spraying them the correct colour. But (!) it's sooooooo difficult to do, as the door shuts are filled with glued-on seals and other stuff that is very hard to paint around. I then found a pair of doors online fairly cheaply and in the right colour, but they still need internals swapping over and a coat of paint on the outside of the skins. I've done the rear door, but as I mentioned earlier on, the front is more of a challenge. It's pouring with rain here in France today, so today it's feet up, glass of whisky and a rock bun later on, instead
Thanks once again!
