DS3 2015 - Radio Issues

Hi all,

I have recently bought a DS3 2015 1.6 Diesel. Unfortunately it didn't come with its manual and I am having some issues with the touchscreen radio. The two problems are as follow:

1. I am unable to just switch off the radio
2. The radio turns on every time I turn the ignition - is there a way to disable this?

I'm sure you should be able to turn it off such that it won't come on with the ignition. You can download the Owneer's Manual from various places, this is one:

If from a dealer you could take it back. What happens if you set the volume to zero ? If it has a volume knob does pressing it switch the radio on/off. If you have steering wheel controls and it is like the Cactus, the right side plus and minus buttons should alter the volume.

What are you pressing to switch the radio off?

Do you know what type of radio is fitted? A photo of the front of the unit would help?

I don't know the type of radio, but please see the attached photo. There is no obvious 'on/off' button

Thanks for sending this over, but the radio consol in this manual doesn't match the one in the car. I have looked through various years and not been able to find a match.

If there isn't a dedicated 'Mute' button on the steering wheel controls try pressing the volume 'up' and 'down' buttons together.

I don't recognise the radio but my best guess, given that it's a touchscreen, is that it's a SMEG unit.

Looking in the handbook using the link above for a 2015 DS3 shows a normal radio in the space below the heating controls but in one for a 2018 shows one like your photo where everything is done via a touch screen and the radio unit must be hidden behind the console. Possibly your 2015 car had a later radio/screen installed by a previous owner. The menu button lower down between the 2 volume buttons might take you to somewhere that can change the auto switching on. Also the steering wheel volume switches if both + and - are pressed together it mutes the sound so something to try.

Judging from the picture that’s SMEG+ or SMEG+IV2 (possibly even NAC Wave1). Those can’t be switched off - only muted.
Switching off was introduced only later with NAC Wave3/4…
