Hello everyone, I have RT3 CAN version (6.63) with a broken HDD and CD drive is not working. Could someone share a working HDD image dump so I can clone it to a new drive?
Thank you!

If you can't get those links to work I have some more.

Re: RT3 CAN 6.63 - need HDD dump
In my Citroën C5 X7, 2009, I have a Citroën RT3 CAN (firmware 6.63) unit with a faulty CD drive. Because the CD reader is not working, I cannot perform a firmware update from CD.
What I really need is a full HDD dump (disk image) from a working RT3 CAN 6.63 unit.
By "HDD dump" I mean a sector-by-sector copy of the original 2.5" PATA HDD (usually 4 GB in size) that contains all 4 partitions and the RT3 operating system.
I would then write this image directly to my HDD using tools such as HDD Raw Copy Tool.

I know what you mean but I'll be honest, I think you'll be lucky.

The most likely cause for the CD drive not working is dust on the lens. Some CD cleaner disks do a good job of cleaning off the dust, but sometimes you have to open up the drive and clean both the lens and the friction washer (on the drive spindle).

Indeed. I don't know much about the RT3, so no idea if the ISOs I could find would rebuild the whole disc structure from zero.MarkoJ wrote: 31 Aug 2025, 13:21 What I really need is a full HDD dump (disk image) from a working RT3 CAN 6.63 unit.
You may yet ind your best bet is to get the CD player working, as above.
Could also get hold of a complete used head unit, copy it, and resell it.
Also may be worth checking the CD's internal interface, as it's also possible to mimic a CD drive's behaviour using hardware, and use an SD card instead, eg, https://www.zuluide.com/
I think you're on a long shot here, the odds of finding another person with the exact radio you have, plus a willingness and the skill to open it up and clone the disc for you, is pretty slim. If there's anywhere possibly able to help, MHH Auto, eg, https://mhhauto.com/Thread-Peugeot-RT3-T6-N3-Upgrade-CD
Note - I know these are not the exact answer you are looking for, just alternates that might be possible.

Re: RT3 CAN 6.63 - need HDD dump
I got a suggestion to try to restore the software to the previous version. I found in the Backup folder that it is version RT4 CAN 8.10, and it should also work with RT4 CAN 8.11. Can you help me get to this file?

That's RT4 not RT3. Where did you hear that suggestion?

Re: RT3 CAN 6.63 - need HDD dump
I thought the device had RT3 software because it says so on its cover. I accessed the HDD and made sure there were 2 Backup folders as it was first upgraded to RT4 and then to RT4 CAN 8.10.
This is the reason why I need RT4 CAN 8.10 as the last version before the device crashed.

Even assuming I can find a source for this how will you load it without a working CD drive?

Re: RT3 CAN 6.63 - need HDD dump
I have found links for 8.20 and 8.31 but not 8.10. I haven't tested the links as they are 425MB each!

Re: RT3 CAN 6.63 - need HDD dump
I have v8.31 but it won't boot. I can't find a v8.10/11 iso image so I'd like to try the v8.20 iso. Thanks...

I think my CD drive problem will be solved. I took it to a repairman who said the CD drive is just "stuck" and that he will fix it mechanically, I hope.
