Misfire maybe

Unread post by Jonny1208 »

Good evening all ,

I have a problem with my 1998 Peugeot boxer 2.0 injection petrol .

Starts first time every time no problems. Revs no problem .
Go down the road and coughs and splutters until it gets warm , and this can take up to approximately 15 miles depending on the weather . After this it runs a dream .

Things I have changed so far . That I can think of 🤔😅
Coil x 2
Leads
Plugs x 3 times
TPS twice .
Air intake sensor
MAP sensor twice
Injectors
Exhaust sensor .
ECU temperature sensor 6 times .
Dash temperature sensor 3 times
New cam belt and water pump .
BREATHER VALVE .
Idle air control valve.
Control valve
Fuel pump relay .
Cam crankshaft sensor .
Exhaust.
Fuel filter twice .
Air filter twice

Any help would be appreciated . Thank you .

Next to try is the fuel pump

I have no air leaks .

Spark plugs are the right light brown colour .

I have just come back from North Wales today , runs beautifully when warm and that was a 600 round mile trip . Friday 29/08

Having replaced so much I think you should do a scan with a high end diagnostic kit to read the fault codes and see what is going on. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Being 1998 this may have an OBD diagnostic connector or may have a proprietary rectangular PP2000 connector?

Mickthemaverick . Thank you for your reply . It doesn’t have a obd port that is the main problem I am having .

Might I suggest you run a Google search for "1998 Peugeot Boxer Diagnostics Port"? I did, and I found a few YouTube videos showing various locations. It is likely that your van has an OBD 1 port, which may need an adaptor to work with more recent diagnostic equipment.
