Citroen Relay 2.2 injectors

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and am hoping for some help.

I own a 57 plate Citroen Relay 2.2 hdi. I've replaced the injectors with remanufactured Denso from an online retailer (not ebay).

I've fitted the new injectors and had a friend code them. The problem he's having is that the engine management light won't go out. He's getting a message that the correction values are to high and can't complete the pilot learn.

If anyone can help I'll be hugely grateful

My first thought is did your friend know that the engine is numbered from the gearbox end? If not he will have got the coding wrong.

He coded them from pulley to gearbox so sounds like they're the wrong way round

So we've switched the injector codes round and they still won't learn. P1304 learning not performed permanent fault is the code we're getting

Has your friend watched the video I posted?

Yeah he's tried both ways. As soon as he tries gearbox to pulley the recode fails. When he tries pulley to gearbox it gets half way through and then we get correction values to high and it fails

Yes I appreciate he has coded both ways and made no progress, but has he watched the video and taken note of the various points about code length, injector type and in some cases the necessity to remap the ECU?

Yeah he has. He's a commercial mechanic so understood the video better than me. I also had my usual mechanic try and he kept getting the same issue

Worked on a 2.2 in a transit a few years ago , It took about a dozen attempts to get codes accepted, It would get part way through and fail. Eventually they where accepted and all was good

So it's finally sorted. Turns out that 2 of the injector codes were incorrect from the supplier. Only found out when we tried coding them individually instead of all at once. Codes supplied and everything coded.
