Hi guys,
VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Its a DV6C engine
Car went into limp mode on motorway and its running rough.
I'm not very experienced with my Chinese Diagbox but the fault code is P0268 "Injector 3 control" and the classification info for that injector is "4SKFGE-99KFGE". I don't know which part No. injector I'm looking for. Do I search by that classification no. ??
About 2 years ago, my local garage replaced injector No.4 following the same breakdown symptoms. I see on the invoice they used a "VDO" injector SIEA2C59513556. Should I order the same again? Found them on "WT Diesel" website at £134.95?
I believe injector 3 is 3rd from the flywheel.
Would it need programming ( I think the garage said the one they changed didn't need coding, they have diagnostic kit but not sure if they were capable of programming an injector).
Could someone please give advice on ordering the right injector and renewal process please?
TIA

DV6C Injector change:
Yes, counted from flywheel end. The classification number is what you program into the ECU and tells it how the injector performs, nothing to do with part number. If you've had one previous and have a reference for a part number, seems OK to go with that.

There's a load of injector-based chat in my older posts.

Thanks Richard, have ordered one from WT Diesel and they matched the part no. From the previous work and garage invoice.
Thanks for the link.
I'll report how I get on in a couple of days.

Re: 2014 C4 pic 1.6 HDI Injector renewal (part No. and process
Ok, so need some urgent advice please.
I have replaced injector 3, coded it in, not done the drive yet for "running it in" yet but engine now idling fine thanks goodness. Problem I have is that before putting the air box back in I thought I would check for fuel leaks with it running. And I have a leak. Whenever I feel under the threaded union on the high pressure metal pipe my finger is wet. Tried a little tighten, dried up the vicinity with kitchen towel and still there, although I can't "see" it dripping. I'm also not sure if I can hear a constant hissing, not a on/off chuffing nor any smoke but constant hiss ( noting the air filter box still off). Is this leak and potential hiss related to the injector copper washer seating, fuel line or just cus the air box is off?
I did give the whole a clean out with some miniature pipe cleaners and looked pretty good in the mirror. Bolt has been tightened to 7Nm plus 80 degrees.
I don't want to replace the high pressure pipe ( I was really carefull with all the pipework ( alignment of threads & it screwed on by fingers well) so assume not damaged as such).
Is there a product that could seal the threaded fitting (Loctite 577 maybe) or is it coming from the injector "hole" in the head??

Re: 2014 C4 pic 1.6 HDI Injector renewal (part No. and process
The fuel leak, you can try loosening everything and re-tightening. Officially those pipes are single-use items, but I've got away with reusing them before. Cheap but risky option, nip it up as hard as you dare. It's a flare connection like a brake pipe rather than the thread being the seal.
From what I recall, they're not terribly expensive to replace, so don't go nuts.
The hiss? put everything back and see how it is then.

Re: 2014 C4 pic 1.6 HDI Injector renewal (part No. and process
Thanks for the reply, I had the injector back out yesterday, made a dowel with a disc of 180 grit sand paper glued on the end to give to seat a good clean up & vacuumed out.. Also fitted an OEM copper seal as appose to the one supplied with the recon injector and confirmed the plastic sleeve was fitted on the shaft of the injector. Added some white ceramic grease and I'm confident the injector went back in o.k although I did reuse the clamp bolt. But I'm surprised the copper "washer" is the only seal. Is there not an "o" ring near the top or in the hole? Didn't see one.
tried Loctite 577 on pipe fitting & thought at first it had worked. Joint seemed dry on my finger after a couple of starts and just idling. Left it overnight, did a test run today and the area was wet again.
So now I have a new OEM pipe (£14 ) to fit but the other end (17mm flare nut)!I can't get to. Can see it with a mirror, tried a crows foot but can't quite get it on the nut as the area is so tight especially with the adjacent pipe for injector 2.
I've ordered a Sealy tools ak6900 special tool which looks like it will do the job tomorrow fingers crossed.
The only positive so far is the engine ran o.k on the short test run.

The only seal for the injector is the copper washer. It's all that's needed.
Check the union on the injector looks ok, no burrs or similar.
When you put it back together, leave the injector clamp slack until all the pipe unions are on, lined up nicely, and do the nuts finger-tight. Give everythign a wiggle to be sure you're happy with how it's all siting, nip it all up.

Re: 2014 C4 pic 1.6 HDI Injector renewal (part No. and process
Thanks again, yes had same thoughts of alignment for fitting new pipe and checking the fitting on the injector. Inspected the old pipe once off and all I could see was a hardly noticeable scratch on the cone. I was so careful on disassembly the 1st time as well anyway it seems dry now with new pipe on. Jesus was that pipe at the other end difficult. Good job I hadn't assumed the other end was the same size nut as well ( it's 17mm at the manifold) but at least the engineering means you can't try and fit the pipe the wrong way round. The tool I bought just about worked with little room to twist. Whilst unscrewing I was thinking to myself, how am I ever going to get the thread started on the new pipe, I can't see it without a mirror, can barely touch it with a single finger !!!. Well somehow I obviously managed it but you would think if PSA decided these pipes were one time use, the access would be better.
Thanks for your contributions, much appreciated

Re: 2014 C4 pic 1.6 HDI Injector renewal (part No. and process
Well, would you believe it, been out for an extended drive this afternoon and whilst I expected a little diesel smell in the cabin ( because of my previously leaking HP pipe) the smell was getting worse and worse. And now I've spotted the spill / return pipe fitting on injector 2 is dribbling from the connection onto the injector. ( Spill pipe must have been off 3 times and it will be the original). I'll try fitting the "O" ring off of the old injector and it still leaks I'll get the whole thing. ( Does a new pipe assembly come with new "O" rings or are they a separate purchase?)
Also, if I just need a set of O rings, can someone advise the OEM part No. Pls. Thanks

Update, for anyone interested. I have now replaced the spill off pipework and got the little o rings x4 as well. £ 135 from Citroen ( because I wanted them asap).
