A bit late to the party but how about this beautiful song from The Alan Parsons Project, The Silence and I, together with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra.

The singer does a good job but I would like to hear it done by Colin Blunstone, who has done other tracks for the APP.

As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

mickthemaverick wrote: 09 Aug 2025, 16:34 It's a long time since we had a Pickled Egg Jukebox theme day and I can't think of a more appropriate theme for a Jukebox than Silence. Can we get to ten by the end of the day I wonder? So having got started with Steve's post here's my first thought and our number two:

Sometimes it's good to remember some of the great voices of days gone by:

I had never heard Cher's version so I had a listen but I think she got the lyric wrong, singing 'scared of living and scared of dying' instead of 'tired of living etc.......' and also a bit too high here and there for me, however as a result of looking for hers I came across this version by one of my all time greats: :-D

Just generally prefer female vocals, with a few exceptions. Rarely take any notice of the lyrics and hadn't noted the difference.

Yes I think we know that that is where we fundamentally differ Steve, with me preferring the tenor and downwards in the vocal range while you prefer the upper end of that particular spectrum! :-D

This was a revelation. Always assumed it was a Moody's original.
