Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
We've now got a C5x plug in, done a few long trips and plenty of "commuting" so far not had any issues at all, apart from the My Citroen app is poo
72 plate (Feb 23) Shine plus, with optional heated/cooled seats with massage function and the upgraded sound system
Have tried fully charging while driving, no issues, as well as plugged in at home.
We will be extending the official warrant once its due, and happy that the "Phev" side of things has the added 8 year warranty
Happy to answer an queries
Cheers

Got mine yesterday. Happy with it.
Any suggestions on floor mats and boot liner?

We have some generic mats in at the minute until we can get genuine ones.
And Ive seen a few boot liners but all say "not for hybrid version" so we are still looking

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
I've had mine just over a day now. Driven 4 hours and 180miles in it, most of which was the drive to collect it., maybe 140 miles on motorways.
The ACC is a dream, works very well at all speeds. Used it a lot, normally in comfort mode with B activated. I don't find B too aggressive by any means.
I'm not noticing a discernable difference in the suspension modes.
Got the car with a 0% battery and have run it with Esave Max almost all the time and it's 99% now. It shows 24 mile capacity. MPG according to the app is averaging out at 36.3mpg. If i used the 24 miles in the battery that would equate to about 41mpg. Expected a little more.

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
Yeh the esave hammers the MPG
Also had 0 battery but a run from Derby to Newcastle via Nottingham, and a full charge from home charger, and we are on average 58mpg
As with other cars , the battery "miles" is rarely correct, just take note of the %

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
I think I've worked out what I did wrong. I drove it for over 3hrs on Tuesday. Was on max Esave for maybe an hour or so till full but then I should have turned it off when 100%. I remember going down the motorway and it was using electric at times which isnt a good use.

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
Let ot do what ot wants.
Had mine for over a year, motorway @ 65-70 mph, get mid to high 50's with battery at 0%.
The car will always try to run on electric, if you have added charge by regenerative (B mode) or e-save(
) it will try to use that first. With an empty battery it becomes a basic "Self-Charging" Hybrid, similar to Toyotas, so yes the engine will cutout and you drive on Electric only, even at 70mph.
Use the sat nav, it will make best use of the drive train, and make sure you arrive at your destination with an empty battery, even if it drives the last 5 miles in electric only.
I live in Northwales, Electric only range, Summer, GOM says 33, actually get nearer 37 (with B-mode activated) winter it went down to 19 miles. But remember, the fuel cost saving is not just that particular journey. I do 150-200 mile a month on electric only, and it costs me just £0.92p per 25-30 miles, I don't know of any car that would do that on a litre of petrol even.
Tip 1, if you are going on a round trip and you want to save battery, program the whole trip, but adding a stop.
Tip 2, Driving in electric mode all the time is not a good idea, if you do the car will disable Electric mode, it does this for two, be more, reasons, to stop the fuel from going stale, or to recharge the Hybrid battery, the one in the center arm rest. I've found a 15-20 mile trip in Confort(or Hybrid/Power) mode every week or so is all it needs to recharge. A typical indication that you have a low Hybrid battery, is that the keyless entry doesn't work.

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
Thanks for all that, I'll get my head around it as time goes on but your comments are very helpful.
I did make some comments on another thread about the C5x I bought. Back on 2022 we had a 500x 2l 4wd diesel and I test drove the C5x then. I was amazed at the low speed ride but did notice road noise at speed was just OK.
Then we got the DS9 in 2023 and I added some soundproofing. That was a quiet car apart from the suspension knocking especially from the front passenger side that I never did get resolved.
When I got the C5X on Tuesday and drove it 180 miles I wondered if the suspension was OK. Wasn't as refined as I remembered but that was coming from the DS9. Anyway today I called a motorpoint, popped in and test drove the same model the shine+. 15k more miles on the clock and maybe marginally softer than mine but felt the same. I'm happy that I've put that to bed and I can now enjoy the car I have.
After seeing this review I invested I some car mats. https://kit.honestjohn.co.uk/reviews/re ... -car-mats/
But not the ones mentioned. Instead I went for the exclusive version at fifty quid. They are a lot more dense at 2850g per m2 and got a rubber heel mat bonded in. 10% disc voucher and they were just over fifty.
I'm expecting them to be a lot better than the genuine ones at £78.

This is a random one. What's those little flaps which open just in front of the rear grab handles? Are they to stick some accessory in?

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
By the way. My battery shows 24 miles at 100%. The car has done 1600miles now, registered in Nov 24 and has probably sat for months.
Do you think it may recover or does it sound like a warranty replacement sooner rather than later.

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
If its the older model isnt 24 about right?
Anyway, as I said the "miles" is really a guess, its the same on all cars, the battery % is more useful.
I know you can get the dealers to do a "battery health check" though, but you have to pay and that would be refunded IF the battery is faulty

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
I have nothing to go off apart from the comments on here. Sloppysod has an old one and he's saying mid 30's in summer and 19 in winter. But like you say the miles is a guess.
Think I might wait n see a little while, first service is end of Nov time and things may have changed by then.
That reminds me, I wondered about getting a diagnostic tool, one of them OBD scanners. That said even if I did I dont 100% know if I'd be able to interpret it. The £22 quid one here, which is now down to £16 on amazon which rates well isnt apparently compatible with our cars https://haynes.com/en-gb/tips-tutorials ... ers-tested

Re: Citroen C5 X recharge while driving
On mine after its first charge to 100% is ws 19 miles, thats now 24 after using it a while
I have used a VEEPEAK OBD to see some things like battery SOC etc etc, using the Car Scanner Pro app, but it doesnt really give me any useful info that I can work out
Previously I've used VCDS and OBDEleven on Vag cars and its great, but Im not sure there's such a simple option on PAS vehicles
