@ Huskyxantia, A big thank you for that they are not cheap for these cars, my Renault ones are just topping £100 now for a check strap! madness, and I bet the 308cc ones aren't that far off that either, at least more come on Ebay for the 308 than mine. Good bit of info, again thank you.

Your very welcome , think the most exspensive ive seem for 308cc was £75 for one plus £50 for a second hand one. 2 for £16 is worth by another set for spare at that price.

So cars market prices differ , we lose money each year , insurance can out weigh real worth of the car , my point is this. If the 308cc was only worth £400 ( an example case ) would anyone pay just over £100 for this door strap ?

Check strap for life, I hope they are better than the bag for life that splits from supermarkets.
For £110 I would
A) expect it to fit itself.
B) open the door for me.
C) make a brew.
to my liking I hasten to add, other wise I feel a return coming on.

Re: 206cc to a 308cc How ? Why ? Everything 308cc
Spent today doing some needed jobs on the 308cc this car has been amazing for me so at 146802 miles it was now its turn for cambelt pulleys and water pump change , pulleys included the bottom pulley too.
So it's up with car , axle stand , engine supported with nice 4x2 on a jack taking the weight, wheel off car liner out, cam covers off top first 8mm bolts, the the whole engine mount assembly, then the lower part of the cam cover , which reveals my water pump was weeping , so everything off everything cleaned up and all the new stuff back on ( yes I did remove the bottom pulley first ! ) everything was then put back how it was ment to be fitted and topping up the coolant system then bleeding the air from it once the car was ok to take off the stand I had a sticking brake issue to sort out on my side which was cause by a black plastic coating over the brake pad clips which sit in the claiper, they had melted. Everything off and cleaned pads back home new grease on the sliders too, then everything all put back and that job was done to wheel back on car down back on the ground then time to reconnect the battery the car fired up straight away it was an omg
moment I couldn't belive how much quieter it was , very pleased but it took this old man 5 and half hours which included stopping for drinks , loo breaks and lunch. So pleased its done. Pictures in no order but just did random ones as and when

Excellent work Husky!
To an extent I'm really pleased when finding something like that weeping water pump! Sometimes you can be changing parts and wonder
"should I have bothered or just done the minimum?"
- if tensioners and water pump all seem like new when removed, it feels a bit extravagant - but when they are quite clearly on their last legs:
"ah, money well spent there!"

Re: 206cc to a 308cc How ? Why ? Everything 308cc
I've always been the preventive maintance person , if a tensioner has done 60 thousand plus miles and then a new belt goes on it knowing the rubber ( if it is due to today's materials being used lol ) then that could put more strain on the part left behind and then your be opening up the whole thing again to change out the failed part ( possible scenario) checking service history the came belt and pulleys were changed not the water pump . Now to me that's just silly as it's just proved how dangerous it could of been . So I've now got 3 car all with new Cambelt kits on them . The 308cc was losing about half a cup of coolant per month so today I thought right this funny woof woof noise it's making to my experience is water pump , sure enough it was , Also the kit was under £100 for a good brand so was worth it really to swap it all out , then doing it yourself your saving mechanic rates

Yes, I'm similar to you and don't often just change the minimum - it's just a thought that occurs when removing parts and the bits that come off seem pristine.
If you'd a regular coolant top up needed then fingers crossed the pump change has eliminated that issue.
As you say, when it's only the part costs, changing the lot is still not a big cost
