NSF - That's only been in there 10 months / 6k miles. It was a Lesjofors spring, so not unbranded. I think probably a new strut and top mount is in order, but a quick check on Autodoc indicated £330 fir a pre built unit so more research required. The other side the top mount is def broken as the middle was loose when I did that last year, so both sides needed.

As you know Richard I have just completed renewing struts all round and I used KYB springs with a 5 year warranty. This is the ad for mine but I expect the same place will have them for yours

That's not lasted long Richard... Do you have rather lumpy roads up your way? Can't imagine any worse than ours around here - mostly they look like the RAF have been using them for target practice

Thanks Mick, KYB was on my mind - apparently the OE struts are often KYB. A complete set of bits from Pug is £437 so we won't be going there!

Had to fit a new CV boot clip on the C4 last week - was checking the tyres, they are not far off needing replacement. Also noted that both roll bar links have destroyed top boots - they are the Meyle HD ones fitted just less than 5 years ago - if I can find where I bought them from, they may be under warranty
Now it's moaning about needing AdBlue as well, and it needs a service. And cambelt. And front suspension
Today the 3008 got in on the act, it's very angry
It was fine on the way to work this morning, then an hour later Beep Beep Beep soon as I open the door, the red Handbrake warning is on. ABS and ESP come on when started - but they're not as important apparently, as only in yellow
Got diagbox on it - no faults in the handbrake
but permanent fault on RR ABS sensor. No idea why it should give up just like that, comes with a wire attached so seems unlikely it's worn through like the C4 Picassos ones do. Getting it off looks fun, this has the discs with integrated hub / bearings, the sensor is bolted in behind. Apparently you can get to the bolt through a wheel bolt hole, but it's only 5mm Allen head, so what chance it's not just a rusty blob on a 12 year old car.... Probably have to take the disc / hub off and drill it out....
And I've still got to do the front suspension on it as well.

Remarkably after only about 10 mins work:
Winner! Just got to wait for the new one to arrive. Looked like a Torx, but they slipped, so tried the 5mm allen I had read elsewhere, and it came right out

Found the order on Ebay - only 4 years warranty and they were bought 4 years and 1 month ago. Fitted the new ABS sensor, it's not angry any more
managed it through the disc, but it was a bit of a challenge to get it clean enough to sit square, and get the bolt back in - had to pack it with a couple of washers as the new bolt was slightly longer. Surprised that the fault cleared without needing the intervention of the computer, even before driving it.

Was away for a few days this week. Was going to use the Picasso as taking bikes, but the rattle from the front has been getting worse, so gave it a quick look. About 1/2" of play in the NS track rod end
it was OK a few weeks ago when I put the clip on the driveshaft - which it also turns out wasn't quite tight enough - but it's shagged now!
Got a new end and fitted it today, so at least it's not likely to fall off now! Put another clip on the driveshaft boot, but a tell tale clacking on full left lock suggests one of the joints is not that happy....
So we went away in the 3008. Not to be outdone, after a few miles I suspected I could hear the tell tale whine of a wheel bearing. By the time we got home (350 miles) it was no longer a suspicion - it's pretty vocal at 70
so add a wheel bearing and bottom ball joint (they invariably have play when you get the hub off) to the list when doing the struts 
Going to change the oil in the Picasso tomorrow, but the garage can do the front end and timing belt - too much just at the moment.
