Fixing the Citroen

Unread post by Blinky »

Hello!

Using Ai to help my DIY fix

I'd also like some skilled minds to tell me aswell step by step or whatnot, cannot take it to a mechanic due to money, so it has to be a DIY(first time working on a car)

So i have a Citroen C5 2009 x7 2009

DW10BTED4 (Engine)
Vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I have to replace the preheater Relay, glow plugs, fuel temperature sensor, oil, air and fuel filter

I have a Delphi high pressure fuel pump, I'm wondering if the sensor sits at the bottom of this, Ai thinks so?

Anyways i want to know if this is the correct part, my research says so... but I wouldn't trust that hahaha
(PAT fuel temp sensor FTS-005)

I'd like to know a step by step on installing these, Ai has given me one but I'd like to see it matched up with someone who knows their s**t. Thanks Blinks

Why are you changing all those parts? What is your diagnosis based on? AI is probably not the best place to start as it returns unreliable data. I only ask as it can become expensive if you swap parts without testing and they don't fix the problem. If you are operating off a code scan post up the fault codes and we can guide you. Codes aren't parts lists it just gives you direction. I wouldn't rush to change the temperature sensor it's a messy job and I have never heard of one giving trouble. They are awkward to get at same as the glow plugs which can snap in the head and cause a world of pain. Test, test, test is my advice. I have spent enough on the parts canon to know it's a bad idea. Start as intend to proceed.

You will need the diagram here for testing glow plugs. viewtopic.php?p=839667#p839667

As these are electrical issues you need a multimeter and an incandescent test light. These will help you diagnose most electrical faults. You tube is your friend. Peugeot Citroen glow plugs are all setup more or less the same from a testing perspective so any video on testing them will help.

If wanting to do the glow plugs due to P1351 many people do not bother.
If you can get a copy of the ETAI Revue Technique Automobile C5 X7 manual in French, it is useful when doing servicing ISBN 9782726873755, as an example https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rta-B737-Citro ... 2726873758
