Hello.

My VIN is : VR3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Hello.

I own a 2018 Peugeot Rifter, and recently, neither Android Auto nor Apple CarPlay have started.
Black screen...

I tried updating with Peugeot Update, and when I insert the USB drive, I get:
"No content on the USB drive" & "Version incompatible with the hardware."

My current system is version 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0.

I'm trying to update to version 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0.

A solution is to use intermediate verson like 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0 but I need also a Licence.

The garage can't help me; they tried updating without success.
Except for suggesting I contact Peugeot...

Thank you so much ;)

Again, it is impossible to install any update for the NAC Wave 3 (NAC_EUR_WAVE3) infotainment system. And if your system has a 3x.xx.xx.xx_NAC-r0 system version, it is a NAC Wave 3.

Hi everyone,
I have a 2019 Peugeot 301 with the RCC A1 multimedia unit (Bosch). Recently, I tried to update the firmware via USB, but during the process, the system shut down unexpectedly. Now, when I turn the ignition on, the screen is stuck on the message “Please install software” and won’t boot normally.
vin number :VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I tried downloading the latest version recommended by the official Peugeot Update tool (6_0431_23.2I41.1) and putting it on a FAT32 USB drive, but when I plug it in, it doesn’t seem to recognize the drive or proceed with the installation.

I’ve read online that some people had better luck using an earlier version of the RCC A1 firmware (such as 5_096_20.0H022.23) to recover from this state. However, I’m not sure where to find this version, or how to properly install it.

Has anyone here experienced the same problem? Could you please advise:

Is it worth trying an older firmware version?

If so, where can I find the earlier version for the RCC A1?

What are the correct steps or best practices to recover the unit?

Or is this something only a dealership can fix with their equipment?

My car is a 2019 Peugeot 301 (1.6 BlueHDi), and the RCC A1 screen has been stuck like this for a while now.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Sorry for my bad English — I’m using a translator to write this. I hope this post follows the forum rules. Thanks for understanding!

@bugragnc: You have an RCC Wave 3 (RCC_EU_W3_ECO) infotainment system, the A1 (or A2) is just hardware capabilities, namely the "Mirror Screen" (Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto or MirrorLink) support - the A1 version doesn't have that support. There are also RCC Wave 2 A1 and A2 versions, but those Ax aren't meaningful for the firmware version.

You can find all firmware versions for your RCC Wave 3 at https://sites.google.com/view/nac-rcc/system/rcc/wave-3 but you won't be able to install the older ones (probably older than 2023, I didn't check), they already have expired signing certificates.

Disconnect the 12V battery, insert the USB flash drive with the update prepared with the Peugeot Update software (with the 6_0431_23.2I41.1 version and the respective key/license) and reconnect the battery.

Hello, I have a 2020 Citroen C3, which came equipped with a Continental AIO multimedia system.
It had two issues: the first related to the touchscreen and the second related to Bluetooth. When trying to connect a device to the multimedia system, the Bluetooth icon/button appears, but in a darker shade, as if it were "off." I repaired the touchscreen, but the Bluetooth issue persists. I would like to know if a software update would resolve this issue.

@Fede01: Yes, that might help. Firmware updates are mostly bug fixes related to the car-phone connection (Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto). Unfortunately, the latest firmware versions for either the NAC AIO LATAM or the RCC AIO LATAM are too old (5+ years) and the signing certificates are already expired, and impossible to install.

@rui_saraiva

Does this mean I can't access any software update files for the Continental AIO multimedia?
The installed software is 65.07.68.22_RCC-r0.

The installed software is 65.07.68.22_RCC-r0.
You can download all the firmware updates for your system (RCC_AIO_LATAM_WAVE1) at https://sites.google.com/view/nac-rcc/system/rcc/aio and the latest version is 67.02.24.22_RCC-r0, but you won't be able to install it. The digital signing certificates are usually only valid for about 2 or 3 years, and that file was released 5 years ago. As you can see, the certificate expired at Apr 5 15:35:37 2022 GMT:

Code: Select all

> openssl smime -in SWL/001317661585048011/MediaHeader/MediaVersion.ini -pk7out | openssl pkcs7 -print_certs -text | head"
Certificate:
    Data:
        Version: 3 (0x2)
        Serial Number: 8 (0x8)
        Signature Algorithm: sha256WithRSAEncryption
        Issuer: C=FR, L=Paris, O=PSA Peugeot Citroen, OU=Certificate Authorities, OU=(c) PSA Peugeot Citroen - For authorized use only, OU=0002 319187308, CN=PSA - OVIP - Code signing - G1
        Validity
            Not Before: Apr 5 15:35:37 2019 GMT
            Not After : Apr 5 15:35:37 2022 GMT
        Subject: C=FR, L=Paris, O=PSA Peugeot Citroen, OU=Open Vehicle Infotainment Platform, OU=(c) PSA Peugeot Citroen - For authorized use only, CN=Continental \/ RCC \/ 1
If you try to install it, you'll see the generic "Version not compatible with hardware" error message.
To install any firmware, you'll need a digital license key, that is also digitally signed. If you change the date of the car to a valid signing certificate interval (between Apr 2019 and Apr 2022 in this case), the license key will be invalid...

Brick as in "Software loading on demand ... WARNING: System has limited functionality"?

You can either try to reinstall that firmware version, using another USB flash drive or, depending on the system state, just insert a USB flash drive with the MAP update - you'll see a screen to confirm the installation of the map, just say no, and hopefully your system will be fine.
