Camera and I were in action at last evening's North Bucks Road Club Astwood TT race 😃

This is my fave photo from the event - I just love the overall composition, the atmosphere, the effects of the late evening low sun and how the long grass does a bit of photobombing in the bottom left corner as Steph races toward the finish line at the top of the hill about 50 yards beyond 😎

I do love doing this sort of photography 🥰

A great photo with the road leading out of shot, pity you didn't wait until the cyclist was out the way until you took it

I thought Jim's 18 mph TT was fast but yesterday in our car we were behind somebody for a mile doing 30 mph in a 30 area on a hybrid bike and without having to pedal once he got moving. Slowed down a bit once on the shared path avoiding pedestrians but then nearly got wiped out going over a Pelican crossing on red and a car had to emergency brake. No helmet either so must be invincible. Not a youth, could have been 30 to 40 ish going home from work in a shirt and trousers, no tie but it was about 28°C. I could not see what make of bike but it had a rear hub motor so must have been modified to do more than 15 mph without pedalling.

Gosh Paul! Yep, that's an illegal one... I heard a snippet on the wireless this morning of plans to tighten up on such bikes (and scooters) following a lot of problems with thieves using them as snatch'n'grab getaway vehicles and the danger they pose when used by couriers and food deliverers.

At least I did 18mph average over 10 miles under my own power ;)

Saw a real nasty today out on my bike with Steph. We got overtaken in a small village by a driver so impatient they caused an oncoming car to have to execute an emergency stop to avoid a head-on. The car doing the emergency stop was lucky not to get rammed by the car tailgating them. A triple accident avoided only by quick thinking - the guilty party sped off. I have it on video...

Oh, and a small van took pity on us in all the heat and cooled us down with a long spray of screenwash

Hopefully all OK your side Jim! Assuming you can read the reg, report it to the police. Easy enough in England AFAIK. Rather more tricky here in Scotland as you have to make an appointment for them to take a formal statement. I've only done one since I had a camera, had another I would have reported but poor weather meant I couldn't read the VRM. Had a close one the other day, but remonstrating with them at the traffic lights showed they were from overseas in a hire car, so no point. I perhaps should have reported the 2 police vans that were somewhat close in their pass🙄

Yes, we went on to enjoy a superb ride Richard and a great refreshment stop :) Didn't realise how hot it was until we stopped!!!

I'm now reviewing the video from my Fly12. If it shows the necessary details and is good enough it'll be off to the police...

Ah ! So that's why Halfords sell berry flavoured and citrus flavoured screenwash - it's so you can give cyclists a refreshing drink. Thanks for the 'heads up', Jim, I shall give it a try on the next cyclist I see on a hot day

I always adjusted my jets in the van so cyclists and bikers get it in the face when I was sitting in traffic left and right. I have been occasionally known to aim a jet over the roof of the car to help people behind me

Add 50% vodka to the screenwash.
