Re: On your Bike
Last evening I was out with my camera at Round 6 of the Team MK Evening 10 TT racing series...
I chose the only spot in North Bucks where it did not rain and for me it remained dry for the duration of the race
I was only later I learned how lucky I was after hearing several riders speaking of the heavy rain out on the course...
Camera and I will be action again on Wednesday evening to photograph another local TT race... Fingers crossed for the weather
I'm still not quite fit enough yet to race so for the foreseeable I'll be sticking to race photography.

Re: On your Bike
I was out on TT Race photography duties again last evening
I totally unwittingly got one rider launching the most almighty 'snot rocket'*
It was pure luck I clicked the shutter at the exact moment. It was not deliberate and I didn't realise until I did the post-processing work. It's a great photo in its own way but not for publication!
As poor old Elon Musk seems to be having a lot of trouble launching his own rockets lately, I've put him in touch with the rider...
As compensation for not publishing such a snotty photo, amazing as it is, here's a more reasonable one:
* A "snot rocket" refers to a jet of mucus that is forcefully expelled from the nostril. It's often done while one nostril is blocked, creating a deliberate and powerful expulsion of snot. It's considered an informal and somewhat vulgar term.

When you notice somebody in a peloton clearing their nose I sometimes wonder if those nearby get covered and if so, would they return the favour.

Coincidentally, just read about this on ARRSE and sent it to my daughter, an embalmer.

Re: On your Bike
In what's now become my usual Monday evening gig... TT racing photography
Just one from a very big field of riders on what was a perfect evening for racing. Some lovely colour coordination going on and orange too
I'm very much enjoying doing these assignments and camera and I will be in action again on Wednesday evening for another round of TT racing...
I may even get to race one week. I'm now just about fit enough to

One of the machines at last evening's TT race meeting
Proper top-end stuff... For the cost of this one you could easily buy a very tidy near-concours Pug 205 GTi and still have enough left over to tax, insure and fill it up with petrol - the car that is, the bike runs on flapjacks

That's possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen on two wheels!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: On your Bike
I was very happy to be on the other side of the cameras lens at last evening's TT race meeting
My first race since 2023
I use the term 'race' loosely as 33 minutes is not fast by any means. In my defence it was very windy and a strong headwind slowed us all up
It's good that I can race again - I'm very happy
The rest of the field was not - they got no photos
Can't do both!

Jim 18 mph
Who knew MK was that hilly
You could do both if you were allowed a pit stop for flapjack
