Injector coding woes

Unread post by Headnoodle »

Hi, I had an injector replaced at the garage last week but he said he couldn’t code it and was probably due to the rain internal blowers not turning off. I have replaced the resistor pack on the blower which fixed that problem and as I have diagbox thought I would code it myself. It was injector 1 and that was originally faulty and as I had the old injector to hand I could read the old code to make sure I was changing the right one. However whenever i tried to change it I got an error Impossible to program. Am I doing something wrong and does anyone know how to fix it? Oh I am using diagbox 7.63 and it is a c4 grande Picasso 2016 I think

A couple of pointers.
Cyl number one is flywheel end on PSA stuff
Most injector codes are between 16 and 20 digits long, most I have done have been 20 digits

Last i heard on utube was that if the long number 98...080 is the same, they don't need recoding as the ecu will learn. Can anyone confirm?

Oh dear, another injector failure (short circuit)
Still haven't managed to get a definitive answer as for the need to recode DV6C injectors if part number the is the same (9802448680) or if engine will adapt without? Many people seem to recode just because they have the kit to do it. I tried to play safe by purchasing an injector coding add-on to my kingbolen mini dongle., but it seems to have recoded injector #4 instead of #3 !! So now 2 injectors need recoding. Or not? Before i started tinkering with codes, the engine seemed to run smooth at idle with the replacement injector fitted. Haven't tried since..

Here's one for the injector experts
Is it OK to switch injector heads?
eg from a good (has the correct resistance ~200) head from an injector with damaged tip. to other injector with shorted head but body/tip should be ok? Which code to use for this new injector hybrid?

I tried my QR code reader but it wouldn't recognise the QR code. It just ignored it. Even copy and pasting into an image editor and manipulating it didn't work. Anyone else tried this? The code reader has never failed me before.

What does the QR code enable you to do?
Interesting your later eHdi has same part no (98..) but different code at top.
I think the first letter of last code line denotes year of manufacture..

In this particular case, if the information in 4th post down is correct, it should tell you what the injector code is.

Most often they are used for internet URLs (which are just a string of letters, numbers and special characters) to enable a fast link to a web site.

Have had some troubles coding mine with kingbolen dongle with injector coding add-on. it seems to update the next injector code- i tried to update #3 and #4 was recoded. so tried coding #2 to recode #3 and then #3 to recode #4 again.seemed to have worked in the coding app but when checking the injector classification outside the coding app, thee codes were similar but corruped in some way.
started engine up and get flashing engine light with P062B code appearing. was wondering if this is part of the pilot learning process (haven't been on a drive yet)

My bad. ECU had noticed I hadn't entered code correctly. I misread an E for F. Engine light now off;)
