C4 Cactus U3FFF-FF, P00BA-00 faults

Unread post by martin_b »

I have a strange fault that I can't get to the bottom of.

There's no engine light showing, but when I drive and accelerate then sometimes the system will BEEP and display a yellow SERVICE light in the dash along with the "Engine fault, have the vehicle repaired" on the radio. The message disappears the second I release the throttle and comes back on again when I accelerate hard (ie. when the system is generating pressure).

When I connect my scan tool the following faults are logged, however: U3FFF-FF and P00BA-00.

Anyone have an idea of what it could be? Before this there was a P2202 fault that went away after fixing a leak in the flex tube in front of the DPF.

Here's a video of when it happens:

They're both fuel pressure faults - when was the fuel filter last changed?

Fuel filter was last changed 3 years and 127.000 km ago.

Could it be so simple as a new fuel filter?

I changed the fuel filter and the fault went away - and the car is noticeably more responsive. Thank you very much for the suggestion, @RichardW
Indeed a cheap and easy fix!

Here's a picture of the old filter. No wonder the fuel pressure wasn't right...
