2015 ds3 dipped beams stopped working

Evening,

Purchased a 2015 ds3 which has been fine the last few weeks since buying it but the dipped beams randomly went out and wont come on except when disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but only for about 30 seconds then turn off.

Net suggested the wheel controls, purchased a set on ebay but no joy, tried the bsi reset and no luck still.

Bulbs only getting about 6v
Battery is good
Fuses aren't blown
Bulbs clearly work.

Any ideas what else could be the issue?

You haven't provided the VIN, so I can't determine engine and features....

However you say you checked the fuses - which ones? Each Headlamp (certainly on a 2012 Petrol) has a separate fuse F17 for Left Dipped Beam and F15 for the right Dipped Beam Lamp - both located in the engine Fusebox.

So without a fault code or other info, if these both check out, (and it would be odd for both fuses to play up - they usually are blown or not).

So check the earth MC10 shown here:

and also the earth crimp point EM10 which is the only earth shared between the 2 headlamps - so that could affect both:

Failing that, and the usual wiring checks, it will likely need a proper diagnostic, so no good replacing parts as this can be expensive, as the steering wheel control module (Comms unit) must be the exact part to match the vehicle equipment and if you have ESP will need the steering wheel angle sensor calibrated once removed. Again, the engine fusebox may have a dodgy relay, but these are internal and are not user serviceable, so get a diagnostic first.

So really needs to see if there are any codes we can look at first.

Sorry should have been more specific,
Its a 1.6 diesel, ive got diagbox and it showed no fault codes this shows as having 2 fuses for each headlight? 2 for each dip 2 for each main, both dipped seem fine and the fact they come on when the battery is reconnected the fuses are good as are the relays?

The fuses would be f17 and 18 under the bonnet

I run an earth from the chassis direct to the bulb holder but this didnt make it come on either
