I had to investigate further regarding their 'anti-marten spray '. It really is designed to deter Pine Martens ! I didn't realise Pine Martens were a problem 'round here

I presumed that it was a spelling error but looked it up and apparently not

Yes I know what you mean Steve, I am currently in the process of emptying all my garage shelves that were unaffected and there is too many tools that I hardly use already, but sure as eggs are eggs if I don't get them on Thursday I'll wish I had on Friday when an unexpected nut goes loose and in an awkward place!! :-D

More 'can't do without' stuff that would never be used.

I feel particularly drawn to the 'adjustable thingy' :)

The Scottish accent combined with Websterspeak is a bit odd.

I don't use my (non-impact spec) "wobbly ends" very often at all.

The price for that set of three isn't earth shatteringly cheap (£7.99) here's a similar set online free delivery for £7.39 I found in a quick search:

Over the years, I've bought quite a lot of 'Parkside' tools - good DIY quality but not up to heavy professional use: decent set of offset ring spanners (full set from 8 to 19mm) slightly less that a 12mm one essential for an XUD9 (glow-plugs?); Trolley jack and folding axle stands; set of ratcheting spanners (10 - 19mm) in steel box; 10V drill-driver (lighter and smaller than my big 18V HiKoki), ¼" hex bits and twist drills; and lots of other kit too, are all good value for money - which reminds me, tool event today Easter Sunday - I'm off...

On the off-topic subject of Martens: the Beech Marten Martes foina, a.k.a. Stone or House Marten, is a serious pest in wooded parts of continental Europe (including some Greek islands), they regard roof spaces and the like as perfect dens sites - hence the latter name - and can be very persistent in their efforts to (re)gain access. That's why you'll see metal cones on over-head cables to properties. Lidl don't know that Beech Martens aren't native to the British Isles. At the end of the last Ice Age, Beech Martens (and many other species, didn't make it back to the British Isles before Dogger Land was drowned, unlike their more hardy cousins Pine Martens.
2012 Subaru Forester - capable but no magic carpet
2011 Grand C4 Picasso VTR+ 1.6HDi - not missed!
1995 Xantia Estate SX 1.9TD in Vert Vega "The Green Lady" - sadly missed
1998 Xantia 2.1 VXD Estate in Mauritius Blue - R.I.P. (terminal tin-worm)

This coming Thursday (15/05) Aldi have a few 'staycation' items, including a bike rack (for the back of a car), and car boot protectors (as opposed to Wellington boot protectors!).

Next Sunday (25/05) Aldi have a small air cooler cube. While I cannot speak for the one Aldi are selling, I can certainly say that the concept works. They can take enough off the edge of a muggy night that it goes from being impossible to sleep to getting some sleep. I got an air cooler cube for my Mum several years ago, and she was not convinced (she doesn't do technology). A month or so later she phoned me, saying that the weather in her area had turned muggy, and after a couple of nights she remembered the cube. She then said it had been a life saver (and she meant it literally, as she has a heart condition). They only take a couple of degrees off the heat, but that can be enough.
