Hello everyone and Mark,
thank you for your invaluable support, I am new to this forum and landed here because I have the same problem with my 2015 Peugeot 308 Blue Hdi Sw.
Reading the posts I came to the conclusion that I need to replace the BGPA. I understand that changing the BGPA does not require programming but the the fuse box does.

So here is my VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] Can you kindly check if I need any programming?

Would it be possible to confirm that the BGPA to order is part 9675350280 ?
Thank you in advance
Mike

Ys that's the correct part, and no it does not need programming - but as I've mentioned elsewhere, please take photos of connections at the BGPA before removing them to aid with reconnection and always follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

A quick update.
I have purchased an original and brand new BPGA on e-bay and carefully followed Marc's indications.
Overall it took me 1.5 hours to substitute the BPGA and enjoy the process.
Beyond following the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnection / Reconnection, I also connected an OBDII code reader checked and erased the error codes.
All problems are solved and it seems that the car is running really well.
Thank you to Marc and all members of this community who provided so much detailed information.

I would like to add about BPGA. It's an assembly that mostly doesn't have electronics, but they mostly fail due to a factory design error. In the attached picture there is one correct new part but these framed parts are potentially destined to be damaged. There is a transition between the two sides that should have been the same with a screw that makes a permanent connection. When the contact breaks over time due to vibrations and other things, then the whole part has to be changed.

Hi all.

Having a complete nightmare with cars at the moment.
The wifes car had a £1200 service and Mot and 3 days later it was written off. She has borrowed my 81 year old dads 2016 308 as he has just got over cancer treatment and 3 weeks ago he had a hip operation. Within the first week of borrowing it the window regulator failed and yesterday it appears the BPGA needs replacing. Could someone kindly confirm whether or not this would need configuring on VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Many thanks in advance.

In addition to my post directly above the car completely died to day just around the corner when the wife was driving home from work.

Various messages were displayed apparently including;

Battery charging fault - stop the vehicle
Automatic braking disabled
Engine fault
Service light
Now the car won't start at all, luckily we could lock it.

If you unlock the car using the key fob, do the wing mirrors open out and flash as normal? In my experience, the wing mirrors not opening is one of the first signs of a failing BPGA.
Assuming the battery is OK (have you checked?) the faults you list are associated with BPGA problems - but I've never had the vehicle die whilst driving, only a plethora of errors when switching on the ignition and prevented from turning the engine. Hopefully someone with more experience will comment. But if it is the BPGA, it is an easy DIY replacement if you follow the comments on this topic. Good luck.

andybuk99 hasn't said what level of trim his 308 is and so it may not have motorised door mirrors that park. My 308SW Active doesn't, for instance.

Hi All,

looks like I am in the same club of failed BPGA module on my Peugeot Traveller 1.5 Hdi 120 Active. First it happened nearly 2 years ago in winter when the Message Battery Charge Fault appeared twice in the month and resolved with turn the ignition on/off. I automatically suspected battery to not hold charge as I have usb charger with voltmeter display and in the cold mornings it showed usually between 12.0 - 12.5 and I can see the variable charging of the alternator and I checked that with multimetre directly on the battery. Replaced the battery (that was fun :-D ), checked charging All Ok and sort of 3 weeks later the message pops out again and battery was on strong 12.8V with the lights on, again on/off ignition few times and fault gone. (by the way the original battery is fitted in NewHolland TN75 tractor and still performing well even it is 1/4 of capacity smaller than it should be). But now the fault appearing nearly every time I get in the car and turning ignition on, I would kill the ignition switch soon.

Now the faults : Electric windows and heater fan do not work, I can start engine on the first click without any struggle, engine runs ok, but then the Christmas tree coming up Power Steering (not just fault message actually not working at all), ABS faults, Brake Fault and traction control is coming on every 20s. Also doing BSI reset is fun when the windows do not work - first time had my Mrs in the car with the keys in tin box before I realised what dimwit am I and just flick the lock in drivers door with screwdriver so they can stay open and car thinks the door are closed 8-) . Just never forget when finished to pull the door handle before slamming the door.

From OBD scan when engine on with Battery Charge Fault Message
Power Steering U1121(87) loss of connection and U3FFF(FF)
ABS U1118(87), U1218(81) , U1000(00)

When ONLY ignition is on with Battery Charge Fault Message
Power Steering U1121(87) and U3FFF(FF)
ABS U1121(87) loss of conection and U3FFF(FF)

I measured outputs on BPGA module when fault is on the top is live as it direct feed from battery thru fuses, but the bottom double 5 outputs (the relay side) are without power, when I am without fault all is on. Can't do the relay bypass test ( someone suggest here ) as my BPGA module do not have the the bottom post.

My original part number of BPGA on car is 9822150080 ( JL09-00 ) and is quite impossible get cheap on ebay or ali as I found it only at https://citroendirectparts.co.uk/produc ... ment-unit/ for £294.30 or one french website with similiar price tag. I am just hope this one does not need to be coded, can it be checked for me please, my VIN : VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Did anyone tried put different BPGA unit - same shape than the original part number as all looks same with the same six pin brown connector, so for example if I replace mine with ebay 9675350380 but my car is not stated which is only £150 and I transfer all the fuses from the mine into new one?

Any advice will be appreciate,

Petr

Just purchased 308 allure 1.6 within a few days I've had the electrical circuit system. Have your vehicle repaired fault. I have no warranty. Start/stop doesn't seem to work. I have taken it to local garage but they are unsure but said there are a lot of faults. I believe it's a BPGA fault. Want to sort out this as cheap as possible after paying out so much for car. If I give VIN can you confirm if new BPGA needs programming or anything else. I've very much appreciated the information on forum
