Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Someones being busy with there 3d printers lol, yes they are rather flimsy i did ask the AA chap if they have much resistance in these parts & he said not really there quite easy to move the plunger part in & out.
Ive just got a feeling the next one will do the same my gut is telling me.
It cant be the bar the pedals are on as ive watched the lever to (plunger) the cylinder being pulled in & out & its movement is straight .
Were see when this more costing part arrives. I will take some photos as and when i under take the job , christmas dinner in one hand master cylinder in the other .

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Done that in the past. I can easily get bored on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, not being one to spend the day in what might be considered the 'traditional' manner...
So, it being a nice day, I replaced a set of Xantia handbrake cables...
Long in the past, I've made house calls on the big day to fix broken tellies. Back in the day there was nothing worse than Christmas without the telly and in those days most only had one set so no spare to fall back on.
Fingers crossed this more expensive master cylinder will do the trick Husky
I just hope it doesn't decide to go pop whilst it in the custody of my younger daughter over Christmas... I will be down to just one serviceable car as Bluebell is all in bits currently; I can soon put her back together if push comes to shove though...

Myself & a friend back in 93 we spent boxing day doing my dads mk4 escort gearbox it was freezing cold so we lit a bbq & that was real good to work by. Nothing like cold steel to make you feel alive , hard to belive it was 32 yrs ago , seems like yesterday , my dad kept the tea coming .

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Brainstorm ..
Last replacement , i recall white lumps dropping into the out flow bottle
Indicating white grease, this stuff can be seen further back in a photo on this thread, this surely must indicate that these cmc's are rubbish as they fail & fall to bits.
Or do we go a step backwards & say what ever is pushing the grease out is the cause ? Or go back a step further pedal set up ?
Pedal was sorted , bar is straight, fluid was dot4, so leaves one thing cmc is cheap sub standard parts.
CMC =clutch master cylinder.

It begs the question have you checked the piston seals in your CMC Husky?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Once this new one arrives i will look at the one thats being removed, as i recall the first one didnt look to have a seal or o-ring as one bit goes into the chamber then a plastic green circlip pushes through a slit then holds the whole thing together. Which a can be seen in photos a bit back on this thread , bit i will say ive not really taken one apart to be honest so im only going on what ive seen myself from my own car. If the issue is the unit missing an o-ring to stop fluid bypass then why is one missing or is it the case of quality control ( lack of )

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Theory of mine was undertaken this morning regarding the clutch master cylinder. The new one was removed(this recent one thats failed)I popped the green plastic clip out this then allowing the rod to come all the way out to which I noticed most of the white grease has been worn off, now here's my Theory, is this used to act an air seal ? To stop air getting in as there is no other seal(s) apart from the one the rod has at the point where it meet the clip & to be honest it don't look like much of one. So I cleaned all the white grease & applied red instead slightly thicker & I've used this in the past to stop air leaking through the brake nipples when bleeding brakes, smear round the nipple air tight seal, BUT when bleeding the pedal got just under half firm then went again flat to the floor, so ,cold , beaten , I'm in doors cold pi@&×w off & none the better off.
I'm still waiting on the new one to arrive, hurry up much more expensive master cylinder!

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
The new master cylinder arrived safely yesterday 27th, looking at the inlets and outlet pipes the inlet has a hole which seems off center , I wonder if this could be the fault with the design ? I'm taking it easy as I've been told my right lung has fluid in it or on it ?? Whats the difference tomato tomatoe, so for a non smoker non drinker are now wondering if I should of drank & smoked from a young age maybe I'd of been ok, can't win can you. Anyways,
Once I get some sign of being able to do the car I will ,but in the mean time meds,n more meds nice roaring open fire too.. mine you I've seen a nice Nissan quashqia , or is that cash cow. But like all cars there only as good as the care they get from there owners, speaks volumes for me then
