Hi Team,

Would it be possible to let me know what additive is needed for my car ?
VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

The car is exactly 100k miles.
My mechanic topped the tank for the first time with a white bottle saying "POWERFLEX" on it and i hope it can be mixed with the original additive.
After around 7 months and around 5k miles the counter was reset that was filled up. Is that a problem ?

Thanks in advanced

You have a reservoir (so not a pouch based system) and require Powerflex Additive.

The counter should be reset when the additive reservoir is topped up, but won't do any harm if this was a little later.

Thank you Marc for your reply. I feel much better and glad that my DPF is maintained properly.

Good morning, I need to fill Eolys tank.
Vin VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] 2012 C4 Picasso

I have located what I think is the tank on the O/S in front of rear wheel.
I assume where I fill is on the top, however I can't see the connector colour.

Please could you confirm type of fluid required and if I'm correct in thinking its a tank, not pouch.
TIA Tim

You can't just fill it up - it needs resetting with the diagnostic tool.

You require Powerflex additive and yes it is a reservoir system not a pouch. It is filled by gravity, so needs a filling kit and a professional level diagnostic tool to reset the additive counter or the engine ECU will not know you hahve topped the fluid up (it is not physically measured).

Thanks for that Marc, much appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to say I was aware of the resetting required and have access to a diagnostic tool for doing this on my original post.

Any recommendations where to get refill kit from online?

TIA Tim

No worries, there are plenty of sellers, even Amazon sell it now:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/DPF-Additive-P ... 4d21&psc=1

Just make sure you put in at least 1 litre when refilling.

Best

For your 508 (W2) of this build year you need Eolys EXTEND (Black) fluid - NOT Powerflex.

Hi all
I haven't posted on here is absolutely ages - life getting in the way etc. I still have all my previous Citroen's and will get round to updating some of my previous threads at some point. Reason for this post is on Christmas Day I made a rash purchase... An X7 with an eolys fault (P1442 - o/c, intermittent) and I collected it yesterday. nb: I can't even blame alcohol for the rash purchase because I didn't drink a drop on xmas day!

VIN is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Please could you check and confirm:
The correct additive fluid for this car;
The wiring diagram for the tank pump (so I can check and confirm if it's pump/wiring that's at fault etc.);
The part number for the replacement tank (complete).

Thank you :)

Hi Iain.

For the C5 X7, it needs a specific Eolys fluid, which is Eolys EXTEND (Black).
Iain Eolys Tank.png
(9) PEF Additive Tank, part: 1500NK, £475.73

As for the fault Code:
Fault Code: P1442
Description of Fault:
  • Wired additive pump: Open circuit. Electrical failure of the particle filter additive system. The fault appears after 1 second.
  • Context of appearance of the fault code: The fault does not appear during the engine ECU dormant mode phase.
  • The fault does not appear during the partial wake-up phase.
Conditions for Fault to clear:
  • No open circuit for 1 seconds
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Deactivation of the additive pump
  • Deactivation of forced regeneration of the particle filter by the diagnostic tool
  • Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning message: Risk of particle filter clogging
Symptoms:
  • No effects immediately perceptible to the customer
Suspect Areas:
  • Engine fuse box
  • Additive pump
  • Electrical harness
So there is the possibility of the engine fusebox to consider here.
