308cc weird windows problem F9D0, F9D1

Unread post by Djandree »

Hi all

Got a weird problem with my Peugeot 308cc. My missus got back home from work, she opened passenger door to grab a purse, shut and... widows didn't close. There is a gap. I was trying to relearn windows. and the outcome is windows is staying down. When I press up is going for a inch up. When I press down is going for an inch down. Sensor in the handle is working, when the alarm is deactivated touching the handle triggering windows movement. I connected diagbox, did a windows actuator test. All 3 windows is going down an inch then got back up. Passenger one is down till bottom and then going up for an inch))). Moreover roof is going up or down without any problems. I started whole system fault finder and get this - F9D0, F9D1 (Driver's and passenger's mirror mechanism. sensor input fault - Short circuit to earth or short circuit to positive).Haven't got this fault previously, and both mirrors folding, can adjust both up, down, left and right. Heating is working as well. Haven't got indexing while reverse option at all. My RPO is 11700. I secured the window and will get to the bottom later. In the meanwhile any thoughts?

Short to earth , sounds like the loom from the door handle might of got to wet ., check the loom from the door to the car to rule out any breaks in the loom.

The above is how to remove the door card on these cars, once off you can check all the looms . If its a damaged wire and touching the body or another wire then that can cause weird electrical issues. Goodluck .

Ok. Here we go. I dismantle a door card, disconnect handle from plug. Still window don't want to move up. Checked all the connectors, wires (visible). Did check wires from driver switch to the passenger door motor for faults. Power going in, but window is moving a bit in both directions, but won't go all the way up. Next idea - window regulators. Cable looks ok, window is moving up a bit or down a bit but still nothing. Next think thing was to help window to going up. Gently pushed glass up, and started to pull window switch.. TADA.. bit by bit, click by click window went up all the way. I have tried to open the door, (handle was unclipped from connector) window went down a bit. After shutting went up again as it should. I did reconnect handle sensor, the same. Window got back as it should. next thing window went down.... and the same wont go up again. Bit force, click by click and went up again. Haven't got time to dismantle the motor (check for brushes) or dismantle window regulator - to dark and to cold))))), but I am suspecting brushes because window is going up and down without any resistance. Main thing is that window is working to allow open the door and shut them. Will inform you guys later after the job is done.

From your description, it sounds like the anti-pinch is cutting in. Maybe one of the window guide strips has got damaged and is causing the the window to be too tight? Or maybe it is just not able to measure the operating current of the window?

It might, to check everything window must be out anyway. But I don't think that guide is damaged. I did spray guides with lubricant and check them. Its the same: down no problem; up it's like motor just cutting off. And in the window down position motor is moving glass an inch up or down, same like you opening the door without problem every time. Have to look at wiring diag's, don't know if this motor got thermal cut off, or just bsi measuring to much current going thru and cut it off. Will sort it out.. eventually..) before spring for sure)))

Have you tried the normal method for re-initialising the anti-pinch? Get the window fully closed and then hold the switch in the up position for 5 seconds.

Might be easier just get get a part from a breakers and swap it out , sounds like the motor in the car is coming to the end of its service life .

hello. Yes I did re-initialising the anti-pinch with no effect. 90% that motor is coming to the end 10% guide strips) I will let you know when I will repair it. Thanks for your thoughts

Nice to hear of someone winning a battle with a "cc". My 307 has never been reliable with regard to the roof operation. I don't dare try to lower it these days. I'm saving up for a new switch.

I have discovered a useful site that offers parts that are unique to Peugeot "cc" models. The site is in French so you'll need to translate.

Heh. It is always at back of your head...will it close this time? .. but it is what it is. CC should be driven with the roof down ))))
