Presumably that was already seized prior to the previous belt change then Jim [-X
Indeed, it was, at least partially, and those whacks on the jockey was to drive it a little further back to release the tension enough to slip off the belt.

Skull wrote: 22 Nov 2024, 06:50 Did the 1.9TD need your SEEMS meter for cambelt tension setting or just a little strum :?:
No, as the 1.9TD uses a rather good semi-dynamic tensioner where a spring-loaded arrangement sets the initial belt tension and then it's locked to this set tension. The early ES9 V6 used something similar. The seized bit was what sets the initial tension.

It works well although it is a bit bulky and more expensive to make I guess, compared to the early HDi/8V XU/TU-type tensioner...

That's one very colourful MoT certificate 😀 Makes a lovely change from the usual black and white 😁

It was most instructive to see the MoT being carried out.. The tester gave it a very deep and thorough test indeed.

Watching the suspension shaker in action was amazing...

Huge congrats Alasdair; a real credit to you and all the hard work you have put into the car...

It rides beautifully and is so comfy 😀 Riding shotgun in it today was a delight and... It no longer stinks 😉

Result!!! And in more ways than one 😎

That's really an amazing transformation :D

I can now reveal I was very worried when this vehicle pulled up outside the MoT station whilst the car was undergoing the test...
