Thank you for posting all this! I'm staggered the master and slave are considered service items! I'll be using all your knowledge of doing it to do mine in about 20,000 miles time then
Hope these items never go NFP!

Incredible timing! Last time you had the issue I've just read it was snowing and guess what. Snow is forecast for some areas today, tomorrow and Thursday.Huskyxantia wrote: 18 Nov 2024, 11:06 Dont speak to soon ..... it went again this weekend . After flywheel replacement . Its the complete setup of pedal to cylinder and the alignmemt of the part if the plunger is not straight , and i belive not many are , this then over time wears it out . ( or part of a number of other factors all doing there bit to make it fail )
I wonder if there is a possibility of having the part copied in aluminium?Huskyxantia wrote: 18 Nov 2024, 12:13 Im at this momemt thinking of maybe trying a cable system old school and forget the hydralic system altogether , if this is there weakness then maybe i need to check the housing postions for a cabke to go to and see if it xould be done , wonder if psa would care ? Cant keep having these plastic parts going on me again ,
If you want to try one out Roger, you would be very welcome - and very impressedRhothgar wrote: 18 Nov 2024, 12:08 Good luck with this I am watching closely as a C3 Picasso has been suggested to me as a good next car. Probably by that Eastment fellow...
He is , hes always helpful , his advice to worth its weight in gold. If im not thinking striaght he pops down after his day of what ever hes been doing & goes through a plan of action then things look more clear.
As for my findings this evening regarding these master cylinders failing , an ebay seller whom sells the bushes that replace the green type on the car which were known to wear & cause pedal flop ( up down & side 2 side ) hes said hes never known this to cause a master cylinder to fail . But i beg to differ i mean if the rod that clips to the pedal is being pulled off center then surely this can cause the seal to sort of open and let air in after a few hundred miles of gear changes. We will have to see.CitroJim wrote: 10 Jan 2024, 17:45 That's most excellent Husky and exceedingly valuable... You've done some brilliant work there
