Fuel pressure regulator 1.6 HDi

Unread post by freddyokel »

I'm suspecting I have a faulty fuel pressure regulator (DV6TED4 HZ engine)
The actuator test in Diagbox says to touch the regulator and feel it vibrate.
Mine does nothing but I can hear (but not feel) a click on an off while the actuator test is running.
Is this correct or have I actually found the smoking gun?

Update: just run the same test on my partner's DV6D HP engine and I can't hear the vibrate either (I don't actually know where the regulator is on this one). But... it doesn't click...

It looks like this and is located on the high pressure pump.

And the pump looks like this.

Yeah, I've got a spare.
Just wondered if it was actually supposed to vibrate when you ran the test in Diagbox.
If it wasn't such an utter <insert word here> to access I'd have just swapped it out.

Hello everybody i have a peugeot partner and I may have a problem with the regulator on the pump but how can i remove it i cant see it and not enough space to get down my hands. Sometime my check engine lamp lights up and I get 2 error codes for low rail pressure and onekligen for big leak in the diesel system. I know one injector is leaking more then the other three so maybe it could be that one?
Hope you understand my bad english
Best regards Sven-Anders from sweden
