Newbie - 207 BSI help please

Good evening people, I am new here and looking for some help/advice.

My wife’s 2007 Peugeot 207 1.4 hdi is playing up, I believe it is the dreaded BSI issue however am struggling to locate the unit to be able to remove it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I wouldn't be changing anything until you know what the fault is. The BSI is the main computer located inside the vehicle behind the passenger compartment glovebox. You can't just replace these, as they need configuring and are matched to the engine ECU and the transponder chips in the keys.

What you have in the picture is the engine fusebox, a totally separate unit.

I think the best thing is to provide some explanation of the issues you're having along with any fault codes you've had from a diagnostic before replacing anything.

Thank you for your reply, started with no horn, then pollution error, full beam getting stuck on and now full beam is on even when car is off.
99% sure it is the BSI unit after researching, need to remove it and send off to be cloned.
Is there any how too videos on the removal?

Water and corrosion in the connectors of the under-bonnet fusebox is a common issue. See viewtopic.php?t=67522. There are many other examples on this forum or elsewhere.

When pressing the horn I can hear the relay click in the engine fuse box, with the other syptoms it all points too BSI issue

Well I'd first be ignoring the anti-pollution fault, as that will be a separate issue that will need dealing with separately, but both the horn and the main headlamps are engine fusebox-related, so as above, I suspect this will be your culprit, so I'd forget the BSI for now.

The BSI is generally a very reliable unit as it is protected from the elements, being inside the vehicle, whereas the engine fusebox is prone to water ingress, and corrosion that can cause electrical anomalies, especially as the lights and horn are lined directly to the engine fusebox.

That is an indication that the BSI is OK, as the BSI send the command to a relay the engine fuse box, which must be receiving it to generate the click.

Yes, but carefully inspect the connectors as they may also be damaged.

Thank you everyone for your help, new fuse box is definitely a cheaper option with no coding so got to be worth a go.
