DS7 Faults

Unread post by BenDS7 »

Hi all, just goty DS7 E-Tense back after having one of the rear drive shafts replaced after it snapped, was driving home from work and as the rang went to 0 a sligh judder and all of these warning lights appeared, any ideas? I have turned of and on and the errors kept appearing until on the 5th start all of the errors have now gone away. Ive our it on charge in the hope it may have been something to do with the EV dropping to 0%. Any input would be appreciated

I can't help you with this - as PHEVs need specialist attention.

I would first try and reset the TPMS system though once you have checked tyre pressures and see if that stops the messages.

Hi all, so DS have come back to advise the main battery and 1 of the 2 12v batteries are faulty which is funny the issue has risen after they dropped the car off after them having it for a month for a drive train replacement. The have quarter nearly £550 for the main battery and 12v battery replacement including labour which seems steep. Has anyone had this and does the cost seem right?

I'm not going to be much help, but apparently the little 12 volt "Hybrid" battery, not sure where yours is but mine is under the central armrest (C5X), on the C5 Aircross its hidden behind the side trim in the boot, Anyway, this little battery seems to give a lot of trouble on the PSA PHEV's. I know other people have had similar quotes to yours so that's not unusual. From what I can tell its a small Lithium battery that powers the electric drive train management system and a few other bits.
I'm not sure if Marc can hunt down the location, specifications & part number of your battery?
As for changing it yourself, I have seen no reports of anyone changing it themselves yet. Apparently, if you treat your car more like a EV that a petrol car the battery does not get charged and will fault out, so the tip is drive in Hybrid mode for at least 30 minutes every couple of weeks.
Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

Thanks for the info, tend to always drive it in hybrid mode as it auto start in this, I always keep it charged however when the vehicle was with them for 4 weeks it was returned with 0 miles or electric range so think if it has something to do with them leaving it sat for over 4 weeks as it was perfectly fine prior to it going in with them. That would be great to get the part number and possibly price as I think they are having my pants down a little

Hello. Good that your car is back))) Main battery number at least form mine is 16 200 125 80 (around £160 in main dealer). Prices of labour can be high especially in main dealer.
In Ds 2nd anc battery is in the boot. To get it you need to remove :
The boot sill trim
The boot carpets
Unlock the ancillaries battery 2 (2) negative terminal (3)
(at "a").
Disconnect the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2).

In all new cars battery must be in tip top condition - too much sensors, electronics etc. You can buy a battery analyser and check it by yourself. Had mine for around £30 from Amazon. Replacing a main battery by yourself will save you a lot of money...

Thanks for the above that is helpful, do you have any information on the 12v battery which I believe is used for the electric drive?

Please don't PM me, as I'll only respond to technical issues in the main Forum, thanks.

Regarding the battery, I can tell you for sure it won't be a replacement of the main traction battery on an e-tense, as these are just under £8k for a new one and about £4.2k for an exchange main traction battery, so I suspect it is one of the ancillary batteries which are about £180, but depends on your exact vehicle, as there are several types including a network voltage maintaining device. Then there's labour, so either they are repairing or doing something to fix the main battery for that price, but it won't be a replacement - unless partially covered under warranty I suspect.

Thanks, they have advised it is the 12v aux battery on the driver side rear and located in the boot. DS customer care have escalated to there battery specialist as I have argued I believe it has become faulty due to the vehicle sitting at the dealership for a month with no EV charge and not being started for that time. Hopefully they will agree and cover the cost. It's strange how the driveshaft snapped on the driver side rear and that is the exact same side the aux battery has become faulty. Are they linked?

Not really. There is many cases on different ds forums about faulty driveshafts. Electric motor got high torque. Driveshaft, well, is made from cheap material or
torsional shear stress haven't been calculated properly. Or both ))) That's why is getting damage.

Hi everyone,

My DS7 Crossback has just arrived, and I’m experiencing the same issue. Unfortunately, there’s only one service center in Hungary, and it’s quite problematic for me to get there at the moment. Before I received the car, it had been sitting for 2 months. It starts normally, but I get the same error message (electric traction system fault), first in orange and then in red. I’m also seeing a tire pressure error message.

I removed the small battery from the trunk and had it tested, but the values are fine. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Would it make sense to replace the small battery even if the values seem good?

Welcome!

You will need to get it on a diag tool to see what it is upset about. With the tyre pressure message could be a wheel speed sensor playing up?
