Manual opening of C5 X7 Tourer boot?

Hi all,

is there a way of manually opening the boot on my Tourer when the battery isn't in the vehicle?
The normal method isn't working.
It's a non electronic open and close system.

Yes, in the handbook I remember it shows how to release the boot lock....you have to get inside the car to do it.

Like this...slightly different if I remember correctly but basically similar
