Clyde/Matt not seeking to change your views on Electric Vehicles...but as far as the electric powertrain goes its as simple as it gets. Doesn't need a proper gearbox at all because the electric motor delivers the necessary torque instantly. Doesn't need a reverse gear, the motor just spins the other way.
