Re: On your Bike
Maybe time to change your go to search engine Neil, I have been using DDG now since it was available and never suffer from the "sponsored" results appearing at the top as Google used to. I am guessing that is why that shop came up on the top and is one reason why I tipped google overboard!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: On your Bike
The internet works in mysterious ways its wonders to perform.
. That was "bing" doing the searching work but that's probably been integrated with Co-pilot the AI tool. AI bots crawl all over our musings on the forum. At least it produced a story to tell with no doubt a hefty chunk of big brother is watching you. I did start using DDG once for a time, and firefox, but returned to bing/ google. Firefox in particular seemed to eventually kill response on the laptop from time to time and ditched it for the standard stuff which seem to work better.

Re: On your Bike
Wonder if Cycling has a publicity problem.
Hands up if you knew the "Tour of Britain" went through Kelso on 3rd September 2024
or indeed that the Tour of Britain was happening at all, or can name a single competitor in the race.
Not me but some of the paraphernalia was still in place

Is the 'Tour of Britain' what used to be called 'The Milk Race'?

It comes near my part of the world at the weekend... Friends are off to spectate. Not my scene really... I'm a do'er, not a watcher...
Anyway, I have a Chevrons rally to attend

Re: On your Bike
Some milestones reached (in a mix of units
)
2000 miles this year, 20,000km all time on Strava (started in 2018 I think).
Pleased to see average is over 100 miles a week, although I am not sure how it works it out, last 4 weeks possibly.

Re: On your Bike
Neil, that looks like a good ride and sometimes I regret selling a bike I had that was suitable for such terrain. In truth though, I used it so rarely it was almost an ornament and I have no room for those...
And those trails are a great use of disused trackbeds whist preserving them should they ever be required again for rail use.
That's excellent Richard
I'm massively down on my averages this year due to so much illness
You're 85 miles ahead of me! All-time for me is 52,247 miles - about what my Picasso has covered!
I've run over a thousand miles this year so far and my all-time running stands at 11,786 miles!
