Fitting new battery

Hello All

Quick question, I am about to change the battery on my car 2013 X7 C5.

Do I need to let the system know I have changed the battery?
Or will the basic BSI reset be, ok?

Don't think there is any setting for new battery but there is one for its capacity.

If the car had the correct (but worn out) battery before and you've fitted the same type then nothing needs to be done apart from observing the disconnection/reconnection procedure,

Correct - nothing to change if replacing with same type and capacity. Just follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

You need Diagbox for that, probably somewhere under BSI or perhaps battery management

It will be under the battery charge status unit, but as said, not required for a simple like for like replacement.

You could go in just to confirm that the correct battery is registered.
