My old MK2 Megane CC was like that, roof on the boot was cavernous, roof off doubled up as a pick up you would be surprised the amount of gutters and wood i have carried in it roof off and fair bit of plastic inside roof on. Mk3 is not as accommodating!
Struggled putting people in both of them in the back unless they removed their legs, even small children posed a problem and child seats in the MK2 never fitted due to the angle of the rear seat back it lent inwards at the top and base raised higher at the front so not a single child seat would fit, nice one Renault.
Child seats........ Ooooo coming out in hives thinking about it, that's what 4 doors are for!

The trouble with EOS was it was a great idea but way to complicated with way to many seals, most tin tops roof is either on or off, EOS gave you the option of opening the roof like a sun roof without actually taking the complete roof off, which in theory is great many times I could of used that option in the way home in my Renault, but they just poured water in, it was a bad sign when we had our 1st EOS in the showroom at launch and we could not get the roof off it, soon realised why it had been silicone up at the port as it was leaking, the carpets were soaking wet, we have seen loads over the years and only a couple have not leaked, but to be fair people firstly don't use them enough so the roof grows moss and algae along the seals pushing it way in and eventually breaching the seal, secondly nobody looks after the seals never clean or lube them, we have had loads in for a "Roof Service" and found brown crusty seals and dry rubber along with wet carpets and that lovely convertible musty smell that says I'm incontinent.
We had one last year with 2 inches of water in the passenger foot well and a customer complaint of "damp smell", really passenger almost needed a snorkel.

Chip in with the 4-door open top examples...there are very few, and some of those "lists" compiled of such things bang off-point stray into plainly 2-door examples, confuse a genuine 4 door with a slightly more roomy 4-seater with obviously only 2 doors.

I think the Range Rover Evoque does just about do the 4-seater bit, and has isofix for child seats, so may well appeal to a particular section of the market. The "car buyer" vid on you tube presented by Ginny Buckley gives that impression re the rear seating/ headroom etc.
-----------
Meanwhile is it a genuine AC Cobra or a replica with all the badges. :?: Don't know enough to know. An open topper which the Range Rover Evoque knocks into a cocked hat on certain features, but of course the AC cobra is in a different league on others.

I think with the genuine article being so rare, that more than likely this example could be from here

Unbelievable that you set this challenge yesterday Neil! As I rocked up to my holiday apartment last night what did I find parked in the Landlord's car port?

Yes proper 4-door, proper open top, and cheaper than one of these. The I-Spy books used to give 50 for an unusual spot...so well worth a 50 there Mick.

Spotted this distinctive 2CV again today, and I do believe it is a 4-door, with a peel back roof to give 4 passengers the full open toppage experience as per Mick's find.

When you don't have enough paint of any one colour in stock you do this...

I must admit, it looks good :)

The Jaguar XF Sportsbrake photographed yesterday may well have slipped into the 4-Door Open toppage Category with its full length Panoramic Sunroof.

This is a short video, but the days of manually winding back Webasto's has passed with the arrival of the "gesture blind".
Very short video but in words you wave your hand and the blind opens

Late 1990's VW did a Polo called the Harlequin, never understood the significance or why!

Was it covered in red and green squares?

Or maybe it had murderous intent!

Used to regularly see one in my home town Chris, not seen it for a while now. I thought it improved them no end :)

My first memory of the term Harlequin was in connection with matches... Unless I'm imagining it, they came in a black box with a clear lid and the match heads were all different colours.

This would have been getting on for 60 years ago...

EDIT: Just checked the Internet and I was not imagining it. They were made by Bryant and May...

I guess if we are going Yellow and eye catching on the French Car Forum, then lets go.......
Mk 2 Megane CC
Mk 2 Megane CC
Not sure if I would have one though.... a visit to Warsaw in Poland a few years ago I spotted passing, roof off, a lime green Megane CC Mk2, phone in pocket so I never got the snap but it looked rather nice to be fair from what I saw of it.
