C4 CP 2014 Subwoofer install

Hello,

I have a 2014 C4 Grand Picasso Exclusive+ and am planning to install a subwoofer as the stock system is lacking.

I was just trying to figure out the best way to get the audio for the sub, a lot of posts I have seen get it from the rear door speakers. But being a Exclusive+ I was trying to figure out if it had the factory sub and if so whether I could tap into that. It is a UK car and the vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

Any recommendations would be greatly received.

The Equaliser Amp option is part of an optional extra HiFi upgrade and not standard equipment, so no, you don't have this. fitted.

Just to confirm, have you checked that against the VIN? If not how would I confirm if I have that or not?

Yes already checked, which is why I said you don't have it installed. HiFI option (which included the sub-woofer) was an optional extra as part of the HiFi upgrade package and is not standard equipment.

You'll have to look for an aftermarket solution, but unlikely to get a custom sub that fits the standard location the factory fitted units were installed in. You'll need a line output converter or get an amp with this built in, to convert the Head Unit's built-in amplifier outputs to a level that can be handled by the aftermarket amp.

Where would be best to get the audio from for the sub? Directly behind the head unit? Or from a door speaker? The plan is to pop a slimline sub in the boot

Also any chance you have the full original specification to hand? I have contacted Citroen about it but they have been kess than helpful.
