I'll stuff this Morgan in here...expensive toy definitely not bargain basement. The motoring journo's and youtubers seem to like it though plenty positive reviews and satisfies the need for wind in the hair and a parp-ey vroom vroom sound somehow manipulated from a Ford 3 cylinder engine.

What's this odd-looking side panel thing for?

If you have a peek at the pics here Vic, I think its a Boom Mustang Family ST1 Trike, and the surprising thing, the example here is powered by a Peugeot 1.6ltr engine and its an auto.

Your picture was good enough for Google Image search to come up with some suggestions without too much effort or previous knowledge from me!. Boom trikes were built in Germany, but some doubt as to whether they are still in business.

Bit of history here

I had forgotten about this, Northern Portugal last year a tiny hand written sign "CARRO" with an arrow, now my lacking Portuguese language skill led me to believe this was cars (seen the word in the car Rental place) next to furgao which had camper van type vehicles behind the sign, so we followed the road to this small village, paid 2euro to park in this field and walked in, the streets were full of cars. Here are just two of them.

There are about 60 more images I got from that day in a file on my PC I found whilst searching for Actionman images.

Top one Chevrolet Corvette (C1) produced from 1953-1962. That one is probably 1958...Four Headlights, and Faux-Louvred bonnet.

Cheers Neil, I tried to remember all of them so I could write them down back at the villa along side the image numbers but by the time I got back I couldn't remember half of them, plus American cars are not my forte at all, I just thought the shape and colours and chrome of this car plus being a rag top made it look quite "sexy" indeed and to be fair the paintwork was like glass on it, you had to wait for a bit of cloud to pass other wise it just over exposed. The detour to this little village made a great end of day and what made it better I think it was totally unexpected.
To think that car @ 1958 is 5 years older than me, have to say it has aged a lot better than me.

"Looks like a barried Austin (Frazer Nash) Metro."

I was doing alright with the Chevrolet Corvette, now you have lost me completely, sorry!
Austin, you now have me thinking Austin Morris or Steve Austin, A man barely alive apparently, but a wee bit expensive at 6 million dollars for someone with bionic powers that runs really slowly. 😁

Austin Metropolitan
Austin Metropolitan
Made under licence from Frazer Nash by Austin. Pre-BLMC

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nash_Metropolitan

Seems the 'Frazer' was erroneous. They must have merged later.

I used to see one outside our town's poshest hotel, where I delivered papers, about 1960.

As a sidenote, Frazer-Nash bought Bristol motors and that was the last anyone heard of them it seems.

I like it, and all cars of that era had such original shapes unlike todays cars, however Jason Wharton seems to of revocated 297 defunct trademarks of Bristol cars and intends to be a leading British EV company by 2026 however the Frost Group (insolvency practitioner ) told Wharton he had hadn't bought it all, but only certain tooling and spares, oh dear! Bristol Cars now with an uncertain future again.

Looks as though I missed the mark and the American Nash and Frazer Nash are unrelated.
