Yep, keep him on his toes. You wouldn't want him to think he can sit back and relax - I mean, where's the fun in that ?

Re: Life on the edge - the Diary of a C5
Hello, Friends!!
Papa HAS been busy.
He has sorted the leak on my front left brake with a quick twist of his mighty 13mm spanner and painted my front, indicator bulbs. Tight sod!!!
For the leak at the back it was from a joint and, typically, on the steel pipe. His brake flaring tool,is for, copper lines. That did not stop him using some brute force on the tool to reflare the pipe!!
So Thursday at 1 o'clock. Wish me luck.

Hello, Friends!
I am fully roadworthy and able to take my People and Hounds to Nice Places.
Papa is wondering if the fixing bolts for my stylish door handles are available separately? He lost one (typical!!) when he changed my locks and now the driver's door will neither lock nor unlock with the key?
He may (MAY) buy the full assembly but is terminally tight!

Hello, Friends!!!!!
Otterchops here.
I am a Good Girl. It is Official!!! Apart from my 6 month oil change, Daddy has only had to do Regular Checks. However, I have been starting like an old class 40 diesel with a big cloud of white smoke. Daddy has promised me some new glow plugs to cure that. Now, much as I enjoy making my turbo whistle a bit I don’t like making huge clouds of smoke. Not something we Citroens were brought up to do!
Hope all is well in Citroën land.
Merry Christmas to all.
Love

Re: Life on the edge - the Diary of a C5
And a very merry Christmas to you Otter
Good news
To carry on the Class 40 likeness, does your turbo whistle nicely when given the beans away from the start? And at least now you are at your 'Peak' of condition
Good job you aren't compared to a Class 37 or you'd be sounding like a tractor
They can be 'entertaining' when cold started in sub-zero temperatures too!

Good news

Hello, Friends!!
Otterchops here.
I have made Daddy chase his rear end!
He has spent Money on new glow plugs for me. However, he does not need to fit them!! He went shopping on Thursday and I started as smooth as can be. No smoke, no stuttering, all was working perfectly. I even made my Turbo whistle for him.
Now THAT is keeping him on his toes!
Love to all

Re: Life on the edge - the Diary of a C5
Salut, mes amis!!!
Fifi chatting.
Well, my next MOT is looming and this year I needed a new CV joint on the RHS. Now, this should be easy? Yes?
It would have even had I not been BODGED!!!
Papa ordered the new joint and sat back awaiting its arrival. When it came, he pulled my old CV joint off to find that the new one had a hole too small to go over my driveshaft. Papa said a lot of Interesting Words then reassembled.
He then asked iPad to do some research. According to Autodoc, there can be 24 or 39 splines. Papa counted the splines, taking his shoes and socks off to count them. He put them back on again when the neighbours complained about his smelly feet! Sure enough, I had 39 splines. So he found a 39 spline joint on Autodoc that gave him a part number for a Pug 309! Qu’elle bodge!!! Small wonder he always struggled to assemble my right hand hub!
Anyway, as he was preparing to remove the old shaft, the new one arrived this morning so Papa could remove the old and fit the new in one smooth operation. He didn’t even swear. Much….. he did, however, put the box the new shaft came in in the recycling bin. Our recycling bods will reject card with sticky tape on it (my box had some) or expanded poly foam. Twit!!!!
Anyway, to try me out, he went shopping in me.
Back to the old routine, eh?
Love to all.
Otterchops!!
PS - Papa calls me Fifi some times. He’s like that!

Re: Life on the edge - the Diary of a C5
Hello, Friends!
Otterchops here.
We HAVE had fun today.
Kingswinford Tyres in errr Kingswinford can balance my stylish centreless alloys so Papa took me there for new front tyres and the tracking adjusted.
All should have been sweetness and light but their balance machine played them up summat rotten! Much foul language was expended and it only behaved after several meaty blows from a BIG hammer! After my new tyres had been fitted it was off to the alignment bay. On the trip home, Papa found out just how far off my tracking was! Naughty Papa.
Anyways, I am now resting on my driveway where I can play safely.
Love to all
Otterchops.
PS - the balance machine playing up had nothing to do with me. Honest. Or Papa.
