Would it be possible to send me a lower version of the firmware? It was a 2013 508 SW, with one owner, who I guess, would've never had it updated.

Many thanks.
You can't downgrade a firmware to a lower version than is installed. Do you know what version is installed already?

Thanks for the reply Marc,

Unfortunately I don't, but I can do so, by putting the old SD card back in. I don't believe it was ever updated, so at a guess, lower than 2.70.

Thanks, Steve.

I put in the old SD card and it looks like I have 2.75, the date was 05/2012, but it was about 2 hours ago now, so could've forgot build date. I guess 2.77, or 2.80 could be worth a shot?

Whichever you feel would be best suited. (Don't worry, I'm not holding you responsible, lol).

Thank you.

Just to clarify, the problem I have with the old SD card, is that with the engine off, the radio works great, but when I start moving, or if I start the car before the radio is switched on, it either takes ages to boot, or just hangs on the Peugeot loading screen. It's a bit strange how it only does this with the car running. Potentially to do with the nav/ satellite, but not 100%.

I've already backed up the old SD card user files. Do you think it's worth an update on the old SD card first, or just go straight with new SD card? Many thanks again for your help.

No, won't be satellites, but likely the flash memory card is end of life.

I've sent you a PM regarding the firmware.

All worked a treat, Marc, thank you!

I guess this goes to show that having the genuine firmware, rather than a random one downloaded on the Internet, is definitely the way to go.

There was loud beeping when I first started it, but this seems to of stopped after restarting it.

Just need to get the maps sorted now and all should be good.

All functions seem to be working as they should, like parking sensors etc. Would you now update to 2.86, Marc, or leave it while it is working? Unless there is a huge advantage between 2.77 and 2.86, I'm hesitant to really.

Thanks, Marc. Really do appreciate the help!

Hi,

Can someone send me the latest firmware link to my peugeot Allure 3008 yr 2014.
The system is rebooting every 10 to 15 minutes, the GPS is driving on the ocean sometimes.
It's not working properly.

When the RT6 unit in my X7 started showing me driving through the Irish Sea it needed a replacement RT6 to be fitted. Fortunately I was still just inside the three year warranty period and it didn't cost anything personally.

If it's all working I would leave it well alone now, being that V2.86 is a major update and has been known to leave the unit in an unconfigured state after the update requiring dealer reconfiguration and a calibration. So that's my advice. :)

A firmware update will not solve this issue. Your internal Flash Memory (MicroSD card) is failing (they have a finite number of write cycles) so further writing is not going to help.

My advice to you now before it gets to the stage where you have no display is to back up your user settings immediately to a USB stick following Part A of the Mirascripts section in the How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6 guide before you loose the ability to do so.

At least if you decide to replace the card in an attempt to fix it, you will be able to restore your settings. Also, best to make a note of the existing firmware version you have installed while you can.

Ok, so I'll do my best to explain this without confusing you :-D

From the firmware version you have said you already have on the system, this would indicate to me that it is the original factory version (2.20). Further, my information tells me that even if you didn't have any problems with the failing card, you would 99.9% be likely to have configuration problems if you tried to upgrade to any version above 2.21 on a CAN 2010 508.

It happens that I have the files for 2.21 and have uploaded the files in a compressed RAR archive here:

RT6 Firmware V2.21.

Make sure that you extract the files which will create a folder called 2.21 (USB) to your PC. It is critical that you only copy the files and folders of this second folder (2.21 (USB)) to the FAT32 formatted USB.

So you should only have the following in the route of the USB stick:
rt6 files.png
I hope this works for you.

Any later firmware than 2.21 on this system is almost guaranteed to leave the system in a factory default state without any features or equipment working and possible even in a language you can't change. This will then require a dealer visit and will require them to reconfigure the unit from their servers = diagnostic time to do.

So try this version which is a minor upgrade and should also allow the system to partition the new MicroSD card and install the operating system for you.

Well done on taking a back up of your data files. Keep these safe on your PC as you may need them later - but not always. so see how the operation goes first.

Thank you for your quick reply, and the firmware file. That all makes sense thanks I had a feeling i would need a much lower system version given it is 2.20 now, when the new card arrives I will give it a go and let you know how I get on. thanks again.
