Go for an Android Head Unit. The cost in finding the specific Touchscreen for this system and the SMEG Head Unit these days (it was relatively short lived on the X7 before end of production), plus all the parts required is prohibitive, as you'll need new switchblocks, a new fascia, a new centre console, and wiring, plus configuration of the ECUs etc...

I would have prefered something that fits more like original, but i guess android one will do.Found this android 10 unit which goes with trim included and fits nice.

Around 300e in my place.Seller said it comunicates with CAN bus so apparently you dont lose any functions like stearing wheel volume control, reverse camera, radio functions etc.Btw does anyone know longevity of these android units?

Best of luck - there's a lot of wiring, and just be prepared to lose some vehicle options, which may be a possibility as the RD4 is used to change some vehicle options.

Sounds interesting. Be sure to keep us informed of how you go please.

You can buy a 7 inch 2 din android headunit. The plastic trim from the older cars is the exact size for a 7 inch screen. Look for a UIS7862 based headunit. If you don't mind waiting you can order one from AliExpress. Some sellers that sell them are : EKIY, NAVIFLY,MEKEDE,LoveNavi and srnubi.

Also the CANBUS adapter that works for the C5 X7 is Raise PSA-RZ-15.

I bought one of these 10 inch android.
I removed the radio and put the small display Instead.
Can control everything but i have a problem with service km.
I think rz 15 is interfering with km.
I reset the service and few minutes later is on 0 again.
Even if i reset and press the check button, I can clearly see the km decreasing.
I have disconected the radio from the main power anda nothing happened.
2 things can happen. Or the canbus box is deffective or something missconfigured.
Anyone can give me a clue?

I suggest you contact the seller, as we don't support aftermarket head units here.
