Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
If your MicroSd card was failing then upgrading the firmware is not the best idea, as you will be worsening the problem of the failing card.
If you have already upgraded the firmware, you may need to reinstall your maps - but again beware that this may worsen the card if it is failing. You did not say that you had replaced the MicroSD card in your post, so I have assumed you didn't do this.

I replaced the card carefully because I had a black screen + CD sound from time to time, the radio did not respond, now practically everything works except for the Navi, I already have the maps loaded

It can take a while for the satellites to lock on, so you need to drive for at least 10 minutes and see how many are visible. If there are still no satellites, then either try reinstalling the firmware again and the maps again.
Failing that get a cheap GPS antenna from ebay for £10 and plug that in the back of the RT6, go for a drive (you must actually drive the vehicle - it won't work sitting still) for 10 minutes with the aerial sat on the dash and then see if you pick up any satellites. If you do, then your GPS aerial is faulty somewhere. If still no satellites, then you may have a hardware failure like the internal GPS tuner.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi guys. I have noticed an issue with the emayway display/system on citroen ds4 2012 1.6 e.hdi where it frequently doesn't start when I turn on the car, only black screen. From reading various sources, I have noticed that people say it might be a firmware issue. The current version I have is RNEG2.20.e.5. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if they managed to resolve it in any way.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
The problem you are faced with is that if the internal MicroSD card is failing (as they will do eventually, and given that your vehicle is 12 years old), then by reinstalling an updated firmware you risk worsening the problem as the operating system is re-written over the memory cells that may already be at their write limit.
I suggest before you do anything else, read Part A of the guide on the first page and copy your data off while you still can! At least you will have your configuration if you lose it after a card replacement or if the card becomes worse which may prevent you from doing so at that point.
Personally I think the card will be failing given the age, but like anything, you have to decide what you want to do - one thing is for sure it won't be getting any better in the present state.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hello,
Following the guide from the first post I replaced the MicroSD card on the device with a new 8 GB SD card and tried to install firmware V2.80. When it reached the stage of creating new partitions on the SD card, the system gave an error and rebooted.
I inserted a new MicroSD card 16 GB and this time everything went well. I restored the user files from the old SD card with Mirascripts and installed maps and radars.
Everything on the system works normally, there is no Bluetooth echo.
Thanks for the precise instructions.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Great, thanks for the update. A 16Gb card is recommended as the maps have grown and we know a 16Gb card is supported. Glad you are up and running again.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi
So I replaced the SD card and uploaded the firmware.
Almost everything is working but I have no sound, I can tune in on radio stations and adjust the volume.
So the screen works, when I look at the menu in the dashboard it says radio off and zone not mapped.
I have the old SD card but didn’t make a copy of it with mirascript.
Any advice?
Guess I’m not the first to have this problem..

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
That's why wherever possible it's so important to make a backup of the user data files first, so these can be restored later.
You will likely have to get a dealer to check for a calibration file or check the configuration for you at this point. Unless you can try reinserting the old SD card, and if that works with your settings restored, take a backup, swap cards again and try to restore the files.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
That’s what I feared. I will try to reinstall the old card.
Talked to a dealer today and they had no clue of what I was talking about
they tried to upload the firmware but I told them that it would not work and they needed to calibrate it with diagnostics tools trough the PSA server.

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Just tell them they need to treat it as if they were installing the RT6 from new, and undertake the installation in connected diagnostics mode. If they check their technical bulletins under the Audio and telematics section of Servicebox, they will see various tech bulletins for various problems that mention bluetooth calibration and some other interventions that need to be undertaken. Finding a dealer with experience of this is the other issue as they don't fix these units now, they just replace them!

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi. I own a Peugeot 508 2012 and my radio unit stuck in boot loop since last 2 months. I came across this thread/forum and did exactly as mentioned procedures. New SD card replaced, loaded the 2.86 firmware version on a pen drive. When i insert the pen drive for the first time after SD card replacement, my radio unit displays this.
After that, the process continued and error prompted 'Error during SD partitioning' and starts reboot as the picture below
.
Both are Original and new SD cards are Sandisk 8GB.
Any help on this?

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
I would first get a 16Gb micro SD card as you'll need this anyway with the later maps. Don't get an all dinging all dancing Micro SD card or you may have compatibility problems - get something of a similar specification to the original , but just a larger size and do not format it or put it into a Windows PC or it will populate the card with files. The Firmware will do everything that is necessary

Re: How to Replace the Internal MicroSD Card - RT6
Hi, Givemeabreak.
First off, thank you for your support to this forum.
I've recently followed your step by step guide, due to our recently aquired RT6 keep on freezing, or switching off.
I did all the steps, but had no firmware CD and the local dealers, when I ring up, do not have a clue what a firmware CD is.
I found a 2.86iso version online, wrote it onto a USB stick, put it in, but although the USB flashes, the screen just stays dark, but with a backlight on.
Would it be possible to send me a lower version of the firmware? It was a 2013 508 SW, with one owner, who I guess, would've never had it updated.
Many thanks.

If it's an ISO then you need to either extract the files to the USB stick or run the ISO as a CD or burn a CD from the ISO.
