Stud, please consider the solution and help keep the car on the road.

Don't think I have ever been called "Stud" :rofl2:

Update to all, I have decided to go with the piping & fittings system that Jay-Bruce has created, so hopefully my car will be back on the road soon. [-o< :-D

I would Like to thank forum member Jay-Bruce for all the help and advice he gave me getting my C5 back on the road. If it was not for the investment he made in having an adapter manufactured to convert the Citroen 2-way connection block to accept a Cunifer double flared pipe fitting the car would have been SORN for good.

I replaced about the last two meters of cars main suspension tube as there were other areas of corrosion visible, typically at each 90o bend behind the fuel tank. The route I took was, along the side of the right-hand rear Chassis rail beneath the undertrays, around to fuel tank, up over the rear subframe, onto the the plastic frame holding the 2-way block. By following the original tube route I was able to use all of the original body clips, and also added a few extra clips that Jay supplied.

Notes to anyone else needing to do this adaption -
  • Follow the path of the original tube as much as possible. The 2-way block is mounted in a rubber mounted plastic frame, this possibly to isolates any road vibrations. So fitting the tube as per the original, any vibration (fatigue) would be absorbed between the rubber mounted 2-way block frame and first body clip, rather than being focused on the flared end & union connected to the 2-way block.
  • Also, many of the welded studs that hold the undertray up, will break, I drilled and tapped each position, M6, and fitted chromium plated screws with sealant to replace the original welded studs.
  • Its best if you can get the whole car off the ground, for safety I had mine on four Car Ramps, if you have a lift even better
.
